Car for export

rabbitboy:
If you are taking a vehicle directly to a port and is to be permanantly exported it does not need an MOT. It has to be in a roadworthy condition, I.e lights, tyres etc. all ok.
Would recomend carrying proof of ferry booking in case of a pull by the bizees.

Hm.

That’s too late now, but I have some furhter questions:

  • can you give me source of that?
  • what in France, Belgium, Holland, Germany and Poland? Are they happy to see car without valid technical examination driving through their area? ( I know in Poland they are not, unless car have export plates from the previous country, but it’s not a case for Britain, as you don’t issue that… )
  • do I need to pay extra for insurance or my standard insurance allowing me to drive cars belonging to other people will cover that?

I will be really grateful if you’ll give me a source for that, then I can follow that path for the rest of countries.

this is not DVLA! stop asking stupid question.

theres no such thing as a stupid question
but theres lots of stupid answers and stupid people
