Trevor Davies another name from the past , they had a Dodge 300 series that went like the wind , i think most of their work was Albion concrete Llangadog , regards Keith .

First artic that Trevor Davies had was the Dodge followed by the Seddon Atkinsons a couple of Fodens then Scanias . They had a second Dodge that replaced the first and also ran an Atkinson Border unit with a ■■■■■■■■ 220. Also they ran rigids starting with a Bedford TK longwheel base tipper then a Dodge kt900 6 wheel rigid then on to Commer/Dodge Daf Volvo Iveco flats and Volvo Leyland bulk blowers

There is a load of Trevor Davies pics on Chris Farnah’s Flickr site, Cheers Pete

Hello Ianto, My father can remember the Atki Borderer …it did apparently a lot of European profile work …in addition to timber …was the depot out of llanwrda a little way up on the Lampeter road ? … Geraint.

Trevor Davies did do a lot of European Profile work as well as Albion Concrete and timber work. The depot is about half a mile on the right just below the Lampeter road it is used now for some milk transfer work.Hope this is of some help to your father Geraint I think that when Trevor Davies sold up the Atki was bought by Snowy who was the transport manager for restoration but what happened I don’t know

Hello Ianto , …many thanks…is that depot as you leave llanwrda towards Pumsaint behind a large tree lined hedge ? …We noticed a Jenkins Felinfach reefer and also afew tanks parked up only last week …
Now also did Trevor Davies own a Bedford KM 6 wheeler …? , and in Alboin concrete colours ? …again my father can remember such a vehicle …but wonders did it actually belong to the Albion company …
once again Ianto perhaps you may know …
Chep$towchap a pic of a Trev Davies Scania would not go a miss …We know that you have a couple …Geraint .

There was a Bedford KM 6 wheeler in Albion Concrete colours and was owned by Albion but was later sold to Gerwyn Williams who ran it as an owner driver. He had a few mechanical problems with it and eventually parked it up .It was then sold with work to Roy Davies and that was the start of RDH transport of LLANSAWEL /LLANDYBIE. The Bedford was one of two that Albion bought cant rememberwhat happened to one but the one Gerwyn had was an 1968 reg but had a total rebuid at Waterloo Garage Pen y Groes. It was only the chassis was original. There was also a Commer Commando that Albion ran and that was sold to Alun Richards and is still owned by his son Emmyr who drives for Thomas Rees Pumpsaint. There was was a Dodge 6 wheeler with crane that was sold to O J Williams

Nice pic again cc. Not sure about the white cab, but most of them are going that way these days because of the cost of painting them.
Cheers Dave.

Been told the painted ones are owned by Mansel Davies and the white ones are leased from Volvo

That sounds about right Ianto, they aren’t going to spend money if they are on lease.
Cheers Dave.
