Buses, coaches, & lorries

According to Bus Lists on the Web they were first registered to Timpsons of London.

Thank you Dennis for the information, I considered London because of the number plates.
I still think that they were eventually owned by Glasgow Corporation in Bonny Scotland.
It is a wee while since I went over the border into Scotland, perhaps I will visit later this year.

Cheers, Ray.

Hi Ray, yeah get your ass up here for a visit. Unfortunately the bus scene has been sanitised so the variety of colour schemes is limited. The Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Museum is certainly worth a visit though.

Don’t you mean satinized by the likes of 1st group , Stage coach , Go backwards and Arriva

Sorry, that’s exactly what I meant. I just assumed that readers would get the point without me stating the obvious. My bad.

Seddons.

One of the worst examples of sanitisation via nationalisation was East Kent Road Car Co. in about 1970. See below.

The old British Rail coaches were in a similar red/cream if I remember? Although in different proportions. “Blood and Custard”

Ah yes!

Compared to French ones, British railway carriages often displayed smart colours!
