Buses, coaches, & lorries

DEANB:
Routemaster 1965.

Superb, thank you Dean

I’m sure I’ve read on here that Shearings had gone down the pan? Was out for a walk yesterday with my current wife  and we had to cross a main road, whilst standing there waiting to cross a shearings coach went past with a load of people on board.

Leger Holidays aquired Shearings last June but have kept Shearings name.

Pete.

Rusting:

Leyland DAB (CRM927T). Photographed at Winkley, Devon about 20ish years ago.

A few pictures taken earlier today at Wigan Bus Station, Tuesday May 18th 2021.
The bus station was completed less than 2 years ago, but several areas of the
concrete are cracking up. I was told that some of the bus bays were laid by the
contractor in one go, and some of the bays were laid in several thinner layers of
concrete. Cheers, Ray.

This bus, seen in Wigan, was a front engined prototype " Ailsa Volvo ". It spent a fair
amount of time from new, based at the Wigan depot of Greater Manchester Transport
at Melverly Street which was formerly Wigan Corporation Transport. Compared with
modern buses, the driver had to get behind the wheel via the offside door. NMPs

I don’t think this was the prototype Ray as the chassis had been in service since 1974 and this particular one entered service in 1982. The first one is shown below
