Broken rear light lens - 4 weeks now!

Lumberjock:
Thanks for the replies all, appreciate you taking the time to do so. Well i decided to have a stroppy day when the O/S markers wouldn’t come on and went into the office to have a moan about them. I got a fair old mouthful from the boss about “It’s getting sorted!” and was told basically if i didn’t like it, then go home and they would find someone else to drive the truck!. I asked for that in writing and his face kind of went greenish. I stood my ground and the outcome was that i ended up jobless! “dismissed during my probationary period due to unsuitability for the job” is the official line so I went straight to the jobcentre who basically told me where to get off as i had made myself unemployed so it’s in the hands of a solicitor now. The numerous pictures and photocopies of the daily defect sheets are on their way to VOSA too so i hope the whole company takes a dive as its all they deserve! Incidentally, the truck passed me today in the street and it STILL has a broken tail-light!

you need to make your solicitor a where of this and get the JC to put that in writing as they should investigate this and not just blame you , good on you for standing ur ground fella just a shame more don’t

Speak to ACAS for advice. You haven’t made yourself jobless, you’ve conducted yourself in a manner expected of a qualified professional driver. It’s your employer who is at fault.
Did he word his official reason like you’ve written above? This is the only thing that will cause you problems is if he can show other areas of your work which weren’t up to standard.
