I fill to just below the neck for this reason but some how it always manages to find its way out of the [zb] key hole in the cap even at quarter tank suppose it don’t help when the ■■■■ thing was broken into through the lock
Hiya…i think you should have said make sure you put the cap on and correctly i’ve seen lorries going round
corners and diesel slop across the road.i saw it with a taxi on Cromwell road in London one day, a taxi turned left
sloped derv out on the road just as the biker was overtaking as the traffic was all turning left next second
whizz bang the lad was on the floor…can i say he should have seen the spill as he was overtaking me and i saw the
spill and he didn’t, that was a red card for him. still no excuse not to put the cap on…yes i have 6 bikes thats why
i read the road even in the truck,

Never brim my tanks, stop at the 1st click to allow for expansion and while we are on the subject of filling up, I always let the hose drain out too, nothing worse than diesel drips splashed all over the side and top of the tank.
i always have a chuckle seeing people hold the hose in the air hoping to get a bit more out at filling stations
It’s very rare for me to have more than 2/3 in the tank. I only put enough in for the day. I don’t like parking up overnight with large amounts in the tank. If i do need a full tank it’s click then up to the next full litre.
I almost lost it once going over Bridge foot in Warrington. It’s amazing how fast you’re thoughts are. I was thinking that I’m going to put it down and sit on the bike, but stuck my right foot out. It flicked the bike back up luckily. I’ve broken four of the five metatarsal bones in my right foot by leaving the front disc lock on and the bike crushing my foot on my drive.
