He made a mistake

Thats gotta be some kind of wind up, looking at that bridge is like looking at the sun how can you not see it…Blinded by the light?
revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night?
Once when sitting waiting for the level crossing at ely a dimwit in transit ■■■■■■■■■■ drove under the bridge clearing it with the cab and the stainless steel tank forgetting the 4 portaloos on a platform at the rear.all 4 ended up in the road with the roofs sheared off

That’s no excuse he was travelling north.
I’ve a feeling the driver reads this forum. He’s obviously mistaken this bridge for the missing Stargate on the M6. Somewhere in another galaxy light years away is an alien civilisation wondering where their delivery of straw bales has gone.
Andymalton:
Jeez just seen this,I know the truck and it would of done that route over the crossing 100’s of times taking straw to Ely power station at Mepal. Wonder why he thought he could get under the bridge on this occasion!!
I’m not sticking up for him but if he’s local he might have thought he was going either to or from work in his car. Or maybe he just wanted a new truck!!!

I reckon that’s the most logical explanation and if he uses it on court I’d let him off.
Maybe, he was a bit depressed, you never know
I bet the pictures were a shock when he sobered up !!
now you can see why Boss n Driver is always going to new agencies …
Anyone who’s actually seen that bridge will know its pretty well marked to say the least as being low, even if you didnt know where the crossing is you’d certainly be able to stop well before it hitting it, on approach to that bridge the way he was going its 30mph quite abit before it, I’ve far from travelled the country compared to some of you lot but still, never seen a bridge as well lit up like that.
To add this bridge is 8 miles from my work so know it reasonably well.

Ive only used this route once a few weeks back after Rusty Nail and Davemiracleman mentioned it me.Unbelievable that a wagon that big got anywhere near it,without the driver noticing.
Hiya… got to tell you this one.he he he the brother in law (know’s everything) puts a new roof box
on his BMW X5 …£600 from Thurl…after a job well done he has a stack of carboard (still sniggering)
he loads the rubbish in his car and drives to the tip1/2 a mile away (you know whats coming now)
the 2 mitre hight barrier decides to knock of the roof box. can’t type no more for laughing.
Having studied the evidence I’ve come to the conclusion it’s not the drivers fault… Err cos the bridge fell over onto his unit!
That is absolute class, give that man a cigar he’s reached the pinical of his trucking career. 2.7 meters lol. That must be a new world record at least.

What exactly is a ‘professional driver’? £40k pa??You pay peanuts, you get monkeys.
How much more do you think he would have to be paid to get him to avoid hitting the bridge?
It’s a bit late to get the union rep involved to anwser that now.
…is the driver OK, did he bale out?
