Boy are those guys uptight on the other site

II wasn’t sure whether an ex ex-pat would be allowed to post on this forum. The Mods and Admins might have a job on their hands deciding that one.

Might be even more of a job then because there is at least one (me) who is also a Mod. :open_mouth:
Mind you, I refute the description anyway, I’m here for good, therefore - an immigrant :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Hmm… yes Spardo, I realised that you’re both an ex-pat and a Mod. My concern was to wonder whether it’s a requirement that you still had to be an ex-pat to post on this forum. You see, I’m an ex ex-pat (sic.)

I have the utmost respect for Mods and Admins, so my wondering was genuine. I had no wish to (knowingly and with malice aforethought) break the forum rules. The wink was devilment, rather than a lack of respect. I had every confidence that a Mod or an Admin would see it, and put me right if necessary. It seemed to be a grey area…

You don’t have to be an ex-pat or even an ex-ex-pat to post on this forum. For instance, a quick trawl through the threads will show a lot of posts from people considering becoming an ex-pat.

How true. When in doubt though, I tend to politely err on the side of (great) caution.

I did have a trawl, but I don’t fall into that category either.

Allikat Says:…and will wait and find out if they decide to try and take it off me because i just happen to be a limey…

You’d better not have one! If you have obtained a CDL and/or HME in violation of immigration and other US laws, you are advised to surrender it immediately to the following address:

Sheesh, and all I did was mention that I’d just got my hazmat, and the fact that the ND CDL manual says I’m supposed to be a perm resident to have one… It was DOT’s choice to issue the darn thing…

You have shown in numerous previous posts that you have been more than willing to find a way to circumvent US laws. I think it’s time you took the next BA flight home…

Cor… did I get HIM would up a goodun…

Ha Ha Ali, typical American trucker, doesn’t want us wetbacks taking their jobs…only trouble is there aren’t enough of said drivers to support demand.

Have to say though, I am turning into a real redneck trucker too though.

Oh well so be it, when I go back to Edinburgh in September I will feel naked without my 9mm on my belt…

Well, Allikat, this just tends to support my contention that the average American truck driver is a moron. Sad, but true…

My sentiments entirely, I get enough verbal abuse from ‘morons’ every day, from being told to “go back to Australia”   to “We don’t need anything English here”
“Is that so ?” I ask, “Well can we have our language back then ?”

LOL at Pat

I get the Scottish jokes all the time and constant streams of plaid and guys trying to put on a Scottish accent. Recently I seem to be getting the phrase…“Stop it donkey” …from the Shrek 2 movie…!!!, not to mention other abuse, but I can be nasty and I give it all right back in not so nice terms.

Screw 'em all

Stuart

I was trying to make a joke about an ex moron.

Is that like an oxy moron

Sorry

Them godamn yankee fedrates!

Sorry Kate. I have been t’pub

Dont give up your day job Wheelnut :stuck_out_tongue:

Right now, I’m responsible for about 1,500 drivers and from what I’ve seen, about 2/3 of them are morons. That’s 1,000 morons I have to deal with…

BTW, Pat, I used to know a New Zealander of Scottish decent. If you wanted to see him get angry, all you had to do was tell people that he was Australian.

I’m part Scottish myself (Lamont and Mac Phersons). Where can ye find a goood sporen aroun’ here?

Scots wha’ hae wit’ Wallace bled
Scots wham Bruce hath aften led…

pmsl

why do they think that they are better than everyone else

i was attached to the 7th us marine corp during the 1st gulf conflict and they have the worst equipment going, from simple things as the respirator ( gas mask) they would be dead if a real attack did happen ,especially if they had to change the filter.as for the driving well it left alot to be desired.i lost count of the amount of trucks that i saw on there side due to pathetic driving.

christ these guys get a medal for crossing the irish sea as they see it as a war zone.now is that why they all lean to one side when they have there uniforms on

next time they want to cause a war tell them not to call in the professional’s the brittish :bulb: why should we help them out if the hate us so much

It is only the few that think they are above God, just as there some guys and girls in the UK that think the same, I have to say that the majority of drivers and other people I meet on my travels are very polite, friendly and curious about life in Europe and the UK. I usualy take such friendly folk to another channel to avoid the abuse from the monority of idiots.
I have met the same percentage of arrogant people in every country I have travelled in, so to say the Americans are like that could be taken in offence by some, which is not fair to the vast majority, every country has it’s morons and most of them are very suspicious of anyone from some othe place.
I see enough coments here about drivers from eastern block countries arriving in the UK and taking the driving jobs, to the few morons here in the USA I am no different, it is sad but true :frowning:
