Can I be nosey too? I was driving down from Telford, through Bridgnorth to Kidderminster last week, and saw two motors that I thought were Terbow, but both had “Freelance” on the doors.
had a little play with the colour balance…

Terbow Transport was “owned” by the daughter of Peter Bowker. It started many years ago (about 20 IIRC). It had one motor to begin with, a Volvo F12, driven by her then fiance. Over the years the company expanded, and upon the demise of Peter G Bowker Ltd, Terbow took on the work, drivers and trucks.
In the meantime Freelance operated in a small way, with a few trucks and trailers, some on general haulage, and some on longterm contracts.
Then in september of last year Terbow was put into administration, and Freelance Trading Ltd bought it from the administrator, and continued with its work, drivers and trucks.
During the last year most of the fleet has been replaced, with a mix of Renault, Iveco and MAN. There’s just two more left to swap now.
I doubt you’ll need me to tell you who owns Freelance, but that’s why the Freelance Trucks 240 Gardner saw can easily be mistaken for Terbow.
In reality, all of the above rambling could be condensed into four words… same **** different day.
Confused yet? I am

Virtually every cab part is different from any other Atki, and various chassis parts are too, because the front axle is further forward, which affects springs, steering and exhaust, for a start.
Still, I’ve got the factory moulds for nearly all the panels…
Bit late gentlemen, but just noticed this thanks for the story.

Hi Kate,
I have fond memories of driving TKs for Birkenhead and District Co-Op on coal and furniture when I first passed my HGV test back in '79.
I’ve had a go at twiddling the first of your pics, so I hope you like it
What do you think
