No wonder they are sharp, hardly big enough t get anything on!
Wessex Transport ran this Bedford SB Passenger chassis with integral pantechnicon bodywork by Bowyer Brothers (Boalloy) Congleton. They also made the Tautliner trailers. Syd Abrham the Manchester Bedford agents had these built in huge numbers so they could sell them ex stock by advertising in Commercial Motor. Syd Abrham’s had offered the order to Marsden of warrington but they declined as it would have absorbed their total production and wanted to consentrate on their individual removal contractor customers. Although remarkably quite a few Boalloy built vans seemed to have survived for many years and still te odd one has survived till today, mostly built on TK chassis scuttlles the bodies on these vehices were very poor and cheaply built.
Errrrr…the colour on the photograph doesn`t quite resemble that of the actual vehicle .
A combination of eveningtime and poor sunlight has caused the unusual colour discrepancy.
Anyway,…this tidy DAF LF was one of the entrants at Truckfest Scotland , and it`s worthy of a viewing on here.
Cheers , cattle wagon man.
here’s some photos to bring back memories of Miles of Leeds
