Just because you all don’t like it , no need to sit slagging it off. If the driver likes it and the gaffer does the who gives a [zb]. Not affecting how you do hour job or affecring your life They probably think your plain crap boring axor or whatever you drive is [zb].

I thought this was a forum.

Yes and everyone has opinions. But why not ignore the thread or just say “not my cup of tea” rather than call it hideous and [zb] and tacky etc etc

You had a [zb] £20 pelmet In the window, I didn’t like it but didn’t slag it off, its your choice to have it in so crack on.

£20? Don’t insult me it wasn’t even half that. Tippers look nce when clean but when you go to [zb] places like Viridor at Ardley you soon lose interest.

 I would wash a tipper once a week, too mucky for me.
I do containers so got all the time in the world to polish and shine the tank etc then get called sad ,but only so much sleeping and internet you can do!

That is disgusting

I used to follow the “British Tipper Trucks” page on Facebook, but got bored hearing how “awwwwwsummmmm” that lorry is. Constant postings about how anyone who doesn’t like it is jealous etc etc and a shame all other tipper drivers don’t show pride in their wagons…

What’s the big handrail thing on the front for, my guess is it folds down for al fresco nights out.

That wagon doesn’t night out apparently. Their wagons tip at Earthline occasionally, you should here grown men (allegedly) go goo goo at the sight of it.

Please tell me that wasn`t a “whoosh”, mate!

No mate, but mentioning al fresco, I read somewhere that the driver wont eat in the cab. I’m wondering whereabouts in the home counties you encounter kangaroos though.

Must be an awful dilemma for him too, when he wants to sneeze and there`s no time to pull up and jump out.

they’ve got a whole fleet of them well at least 3 ive seen with different themes, whether you like them or not they are a good advert for haulage in general as ive had a few people that have nothing to do with haulage but know I’m into it, tell me about them and how great they look, personally I think there a little overdone but the general public seem to love em

Switch I hope you have filled the risk assessment form in for that bulb, some drivers would rather sit at the side of the road and wait for a fitter to come, and then some wouldn’t know where to start, and as for Mike, show us hour payslip or shut up, what on earth has it got to do with you how much people get paid.

I’m in the each to their own camp, I spend money on my truck but i own it and couldn’t care less what anyone else thinks. I can also see why an employed driver wouldn’t spend his hard earned on his gaffers truck but I wouldn’t knock a driver that did.

So here’s a pic I found on the net of your usual tatty eight legger tipper lol, a credit to the owners. Keeping that mint must take some dedication and hard work. I can’t imagine it’s only used for shows

Sorry mate but I think that looks awful!!

A bit like one of those front gardens you see we’re it’s rammed full of gnomes, water features, wind chimes and other assorted crap
russ, aka stan the man drives this know ,god bless him
Each to their own though

I got a phone call the other week I was about 8 miles from the yard, cab phone rings, “pull over as soon as you can!”, me “what’s wrong?”, night manager says “a fitter has just been following you on the way to work, you have a tail light out, someone’s on their way to you”.

I wasn’t allowed to move and I’d have done it myself when I got to the yard.

I’ve got nothing against bling personly , every car I get I modify it, wheels , slight drop ect and if I owned my own truck I’m sure I’d add some personal touches, but I’d never spend my hard earned on some thing some one else owned .

Out of intrest , when these trucks get sold do all the accesorys go with the truck or come off and get sold on to pay for the next lot if the company decide to got for a diffrent brand of truck …

There’s two of these trucks , and I’m guessing the kangaroos are in maidenhead as that’s where there yard is …

Not personally but I’ve seen a few with spotlights and air horns.

That’s so they have some re - sale value…

New Lad are you by any chance with Currie-European because that was how they worked a few years back, About 7 each evening there was always 2or3 trunkers at the garage to get bulbs put in they weren’t allowed to change them!! elf-n-safety. Eddie.

Lot cheaper than Scanias yet they earn the same money.

He works for turners of Poland.

I wish dates were sometimes checked :unamused:

Muckaway:
Here’s a few reasons why I don’t…
1:It’s not my own.
2:I come to work to earn money, not spend it.
3:It’s a tool for the job not a statement of wealth.
4:Bling wont make it any better.
5:No wash facilities are provided at my base.
6:Firm don’t supply bling, polish etc so it’s obviously not necessary to do the job.
Note the nameplate and filthy frog were freebies, and nameplates are a tradition on Earthline.

Coudn’t have said it better…

I only customized a truck when I was doing regular trips from France to Sweden. I always had the same truck and only customized it on the inside with a kettle, tv, microwave etc. Other than that I would never spend money on someone else’s wagon.

I used to follow the British tipper trucks on facebook I left after about 2 moths I got so ■■■■■■ off with that Doyle lorry getting uploaded 24/7! OTT IMHO it’s ridiculous!

Nothing wrong with a tasteful paint job and modest modifications. It’s the over-bling I don’t like, but each to their own. Some of the lorries out there look like the bigger brother of a modded ford fiesta with halfords fog lights, neon under lighting, third party spoiler, animal decal in the rear window etc. Curtains … if you want tassels from RoadKing.com then fair enough, but it’s not original and you just look like everyone else who is trying too hard to stand out. Posers!

Maybe I’m just envious cos I drive a plain white basic spec axor
