Nope. 7.5 weight limit on the B3234 after 1 mile off the A39.
The OP said he was picking up in Lynton town centre, i.e castle hill/church hill/ lee road. If he is approaching from the blackmoor gate direction once he is on the b3234 the road splits at the 7.5t weight limit, he will be driving into castle hill to access the town thus avoiding the part of road with the weight limit on. That is the only way into the town.
The 7.5t limit would only be a problem if he wanted to stay on the b3234 to lynmouth and rejoin the a39 to porlock, in which case he would have to stay on the a39 and follow it all the way around the gorge, on the tight twisty section as you mentioned in a previous post, but as he is going into Lynton itself and not simply bypassing it to carry along the a39, he can freely use the b3234 to Lynton town centre without having to cross any weight limits.

Thanks for that masetheace. That’s exactly what I needed to know.
The plan is to turn left at Barbrook and drive into Lynton, turning left along Station Hill and going in that way. Once into the town on Lydiate Lane, I’ll hopefully be picking up almost opposite, Belle Vue Ave. That’s a bus route so quite a wide turn. (Not sure what the bus driver’s going to say when/if I’m parked at just the spot he needs a bit of space to get down that street.)
Once loaded, I reckon I’ll have to go down Belle Vue Ave and turn right into Lee Road… then reverse back so I can turn right up Belle Vue Ave, and out the way I came in. I’m pretty certain I won’t be able to go round the block because of parked cars at the top of either Broadmead Gardens or Park Street.
That’s the plan, but as well all know, plans inevitably head out the window when push comes to shove!
Just like to thank everyone who’s contributed their knowledge to solving this problem. You’ve been a massive help!
I think you should get a dash cam fitted before you go
The dash cam’s a good idea. I might just do that!

Probably a daft statement but if you can find somewhere park up and have wander about it’s a nice little place especially Lynmouth.
There’s a Fenicula railway that takes you down into Lynmouth where there’s plenty of places to get fish n chips.
Looking on street view you can’t get up Belle View Ave from Lydiate Lane, its one way and even if you could it’s a “tad tight” to say the least

Yep, you’re right Big Roy, I was thinking Belle Vue Ave is the route the bus takes “down” into Lynton town, but in actual fact it’s the earlier parallel street, Crossmead, that I need to drive down, turn right, then reverse back up Longmead, so I can come up Crossmead to get out.
And I also agree, Bell Vue Ave is really tight at the top, and possibly parked cars will make it a nightmare to get round into Lydiate Lane to head out of the town, back to the A39.
If nothing else it’ll be an interesting exercise in precision driving!
Just as a side note, how do they get away with classifying some of the roads “A Roads”, we do a fair bit down that way and some of the roads are at best B Roads(in my opinion)? Is there some sort of classification system which Cornwall and Devon are exempt?

If it hasn’t got grass growing in the middle it’s an A Road

A lot of them still do and are classed as A roads
I think they just mow them and put weedkiller down, that might explain a lot of them anyway …
Just had a look on steeetview… Crossways is a one way street, so you wont be coming back out that way, Belle Vue ave is the one that takes you back, and is the marked route out of Lynton, but could be tight if cars parked awkwardly.
