bells palsy

My brother suffered from this several years ago,it was brought on by an accident he had whilst driving, apparently it is stress and nerve related.
I can’t remember how long he had off work with it,several months I think, but it gradually got better and he is now fully recovered.

He used to dribble a lot though, especially when eating or drinking.
And his eyes would water when he ate too.

Get well soon.

Take it east scanny and get well soon.

Sorry to hear about it - hope that you have a quick recovery !!

Scanny, the one thing you need to be very wary of, is getting anything in the eye of the affected side, because you may not realise you have something in your eye.
At night, you need to tape the eye shut, or even better, use a piece of gauze soaked in petroleum jelly. Messy I know, but the petroleum jelly will stop anything getting in the eye and prevent eye damage.
It is vital that you keep that eye clean and free of dust/dirt.
Antibiotic cover might even be indicated to prevent infection.

It is caused by a lesion/inflammation of the 7th facial nerve.

Treated properly, you can recover quite quickly and well.

Good luck Scanny

i survived my first artic run this side of the border last night. trunk to lymm and back. eyes did get a little sore but a nap at gretna sorted that out. i was told to stretch my shift out. strange but they are paying for my services :sunglasses:

I thought you had been up there ages ■■ Is work up there particularly slack at the moment ■■ Hope not I am moving up to Livingston in a couple of months - could cause a couple of problems if it is slack !!

I have never liked whisky, I dont mind some of the specialist double malts though

i moved on March 25th Gazzereth. gave it a couple of weeks to get my transfer via Exel and gave up on them so i went to agency work instead but its been class 2 work (class 1 pay though) until now. most of my work has been in Livingston ironically enough

have you got a job lined up? the job a did on friday was a different agency at a lot more money. tomorrow, im on £9 instead of the max £7 that i would have been on. its a small agency based in Livingston and they look promising. proper test instead of standard stuff plus all the forms etc. they pay better money for good drivers and dont mess around. if you do something wrong, you get a warning, do it again and you are out. thats what i like. it keeps the standards up for all of us :sunglasses:

I haven’t got anything lined up at the moment, distance is a bit too far for job hunting - so am getting together a big list of everyone in the area to contact when I am up there - until then it is a case of signing up on all the agencies until I find a good one… …

i had the same problem mate with the exception that i wasnt aware that i needed a job. i had a transfer lined up with Exel but unfortunately, the only person who knew about it was sacked within a week of me leaving his job to pack and the guy up here didnt know about it. the whole thing was a myth :imp:
still, im on agency for the time being and gaining a lot of credibility by keeping my nose to the ground. i should be starting a new job in 5 or 6 weeks so i only need to keep ticking over til then.
in the meantime, i have got in with a good agency. small (2 offices, 1 in Livingston, the other in Durham) but definately showing potential for drivers. they only want decent drivers and they pay better wages for it. the pay depends on the client but i think its a minimum of £8 for class 1.the job i did today was £9 ph. im happy with that

if anyone wants their details, let me know by pm. they are based in Livingston but they cover most of the central belt and they will try to match you to the type of work you want. at the moment, i am running down the M6, swapping trailers and running back in a 55 reg FM12 :sunglasses:
