I see it like this. I want to be a truck driver, and have done since I was a little sprog. People around my age haven’t a clue what they want to do in life as I and many people like me do. If people don’t like it, that’s their problem not mine
But I think it’s jealousy on some parts I mean how many of us really get to live out our childhood dreams in my case of wanting to be a truck driver…not many people get to do that unless they’re really lucky!
I was always told you don’t drive a truck because you want to make money, you do it because you love the job you do and if it’s in your blood you will. Again people should stop caring what other people think, live your life for yourself if others don’t like it well it’s hardly your problem is it

Lorry driving was all I ever wanted to do.Not the greatest ambition in the world, but at least I knew what I wanted to do from a very young age.A lot of people drift in and out of jobs all their working lives not knowing what really suits them.Well lorry driving suited me and if I could turn the clock back I would do it again.
+1 well said I followed my dads steps as a driver and became 1 too. Even so much that we work for the same company too !!
All i ever wanted to do was drive a truck.I used to go with my dad at every opportunity and loved it.So when i was old enough the company he worked for paid for my test and i began life as a “driver”!Only lasted six months there because of the transport manager,i have had numerous driving jobs but either i didnt get on with office staff or the money wasnt great.I always have had a short fuse but if i deserve a bollocking i will take it,however i wont be spoken to like a ■■■■■■■■■■■■■ like some transport managers think they can speak to you.I have been at my current job for nearly a year now and its the best driving job i have had.No stress, good money, home on a night and they treat you like a human being. You always get a please and a thankyou and they understand you want a life out of work.I work for a farmer which is probably why lifes different to working for a haulier.I used to get angry all the time with other road users and i would have ended up murdering someone it got that bad but now lifes changed because at long last i found a great employer. There will always be a need for drivers and you can earn good money but on the other hand you will soon find out its not as rosey as you think when your riding pillion!Good luck with it but once you get into it you will struggle to get out of it,it has a habit of drawing you back in!
