Kempston:
“DEANB” Apart from this being an intresting advert from 1965, it also features a Bedford of J.A.C. Bain Haulage from Dunstable.
It’s hard to believe how and why they ever stopped making them tbh Dean. Also can never fathom out why they didn’t make an 8 wheeler TM.
Yes was odd that they never built an 8 wheeler TM. There were some converted.

Yes I’ve seen photos of conversions before and on TKs & KMs so proves from an engineering point of a view it was possible, very strange, there’s a large market in the UK for 8 wheelers let alone the rest of the world.

A ■■■■■■■ engine should have been offered on the TM right from the start.lots of buyers would have been put off by the two stroke Detroit.
My father bought a Detroit powered TM second hand and really liked it, but he was initially very wary of it.

Only pic I have of our TM.
We’re from Hitchin so whilst not in Bedfordshire we’re only a couple of miles away
Great photo Andrew, what’s he loaded with? Potatoes?
Yes pototatoes Kempston-that’s mostly what the old man carted.I think these were either Egyptian or Cyprus judging from the shiny bags-it’s definitely summertime or they would definitely have been sheeted up properly.probably have been loaded at Dover western docks, straight to the London markets.
