This government are a joke :imp: :imp: :imp: :imp: :imp: Its not this that is having the threat of finishing my 3 children are all young carers for my wife when im out driving and now this joke of a government have decided to cut the budget to gloucestershire young carers by 30% meaning two of my children are now unable to attend,This organisation give restbite to young children around the county and now they are under threat of closure :imp: :imp: :imp: :imp: Where will it end :imp: :imp: :imp: There are so many under privilaged young people in this country that rely on the help and support of charities such as these here.
I for one am appaled at this,I feel vary strongly about these things as they are very close to my heart,we have been helped out by many charities over the last few years since my wife fell ill and i belive the goverment SHOULD do more to help and support them. :imp: :imp: :imp: :imp:

Im sorry for my rant but as i said chrarites help and support me as i do them

Your Rant is completely Justified and I agree with You 100%.
But do You not know the Goverment needs that money to help starving children on a different continent who will in time arrive at our shores expecting political assylum and expect to be kept by our taxes.
How about sterilisation for the parents so they cant keep producing children they cant feed.
Some of You may think this is harsh but untill this counrty stops with the handouts to 3rd world countries the sooner we stop heading that way ourselves.

Afternoon all , not really into posting on forums just tend to read ,but after reading this i have to post.Ive been watching the convoy from nearly day one and have seen it every year since , i grew up in great yarmouth near the race course and used to stand on jellicoe bridge and watch it go past, and now as a 40 year old class 1 driver living in lowestoft i still go and watch it near tesco with the missus and kids .This must be allowed to happen there must be some thing that can be done ,. its a good day for the kids/ drivers in the trucks also helps create a good image for the haulage industry and the spectators love it . So far i have put it on my face book page and signed the petition , anything else i can do just ask . good luck cheers mick

Thanks Mick. Your kind words are greatly appreciated. I donโ€™t know what the future holds, but either way we will come down the golden mile with our heads held high!!

Not long now. The 26th (and almost certainly the last) Childrens convoy is almost upon us.

Not been an easy run this year. So many issues, so many hurdles.

It would great if so many of you could make the journey to watch.

Anyone need any further infoโ– โ– ?

Great to see the media picking up on this Rob, Lets hope common sense prevails and the convoy can carry on for the sake of the kids.
Once again work commitments mean San & myself cannot get there this year, but hope we get a chance in the future to enjoy the day.
All the best to all taking part this weekend, enjoy the day, and get all those who attend to sign the pettition, to keep this event alive.

Am I right in thinking you leave county hall at 930? Got the morning off work so will probably head over to get some photos from the A47 as you pass

It will be a real travesty if this is the last Convoy :frowning: :frowning:

As always a marvellous sight, brought tears to my eyes as it passed, congratulations to everyone who has worked so hard to make it happen.

Look at the happy waves,& faces of the kids treated to this day out, and tell me however skint our goverment percieves this country to be that investing a few bob for policing this event, is not affordable.
David Cameron this could have been the child you sadly lost, having a memory they would take with them, and one you and your wife would cherish, We all hear so much about the toerags who strip our countrys assets, why not support the hard working folk who want to give to improve society.

Many times I have read such comments mate. And yr right, so many things wrong in this messed up country of ours. But on one day a year in Norfolk it comes to pass that the feel good factor is out in force. And, Iโ€™ve come to the conclusion that with the right plan we will do it all again next year.

Thank you to everyone for all their support. I would write more, but i am truly shot to bits.

nevermind

Really nice to see pictures of immaculately-prepared trucks for such a great cause. :sunglasses:

All I can say is โ€œwowโ€, for the effort and love involved and I hope some way will be found for the convoy to continue.
