Wheel Nut:
Don’t we have enough clout here to flex some literary muscle. The pen is mightier than the sword…
Wheel Nut is spot on.
Most people on this site are more than capable of stringing a few words together.
If 10% of the energy and literary skills were directed to Chief Constables, MP’s etc instead of yet another post knocking Eddie Stobart then anything is possible.
We may not be able to help out on the day but all of us can do something. It doesn’t matter how far away from East Anglia you are. E-mails, letters and donations; every little helps!

Well chuck me in.
This is a thread I’d like to see grow for the right reasons…
Hi all, sorry I’ve not been in. Been a little busy. In the next week or so, I hope to bring for further info on how you can help in the campaign to save the childrens convoy. It shouldn’t cost you anymore than 50p. I hope that I can count on yr support.
This countrys gone mad, do the suits want to destroy comunity spirit. and take the will to give to those less foutunate away from folk who care, remove the pleasure this event gives to many who support it by attending, and the benifit to local the local economy and business it generates.
The saddest part is the poor kids who have have experienced the day out will have nothing to look forward to.
I for one will contact No 10 to inform them how disgusted I am that cost, can take away 25 years of careing given by vouleteers to give care in the comunity.
Words fail me.
This should be made a sticky and Rikki and the magazines should start a campaign to get this sorted
The convoy is one of the few things that the industry does that is good for publicity, better than that though the participants do it for the kids, not for anything else, that makes it even more special
Hate to come over all daily mail but its terrible something like this is under threat but how much must it cost to police the stop the war tuition fees etc protests.
Things to do with helping children the elderley the disabled and the military shouldn’t come under threat no matter what the cost.
What would the consequences be if you all ignored the police/hyways and just go ahead.
Don’t make one person responsible, make all participants into a committee and make it a committee decision. That way they would have to do everyone who took part, and if the Police tried to stop you, that would show all these bureaucrats up for what they are. I think that would create a bit of publicity, especially if the media was informed before you do it.
You never know, just the threat of doing might work.
Good luck in what you are doing Rob and I hope it all works out.
Tony
Just read the update, and pleased it is going ahead
Keeping the convoy together as they would have to follow traffic laws eg red lights etc
Closing off roads like Gt Yarmouth Seafront etc so the convoy can stay together
theres alot more that i dont know but the way the convoy is run with the police ■■■■■■ is pretty much needed mainly for other folks safety more than anything tbh while the vast majority of people know to stay back and give them space its just added security and stops random cars getting into the middle of the convoy.
there is alot going on to get this saved, im guessing by the end of the 28th of august there gonna be alot of signitures and lots of other things. i mean i dont want this to be the last one, i enjoy the weekend as a whole, i see it as a meeting up with friends who i aint seen in a long time aswell
