I nearly got myself a thumping today. I was filling up at a fuel station on the A38 when this total prat next to me was spilling diesel while trying to fit 80 litres into a 75 litre tank on his Tonka toy tipper truck.
He was wearing a BOVIS site safety award team Hi Viz, so I grabbed a camera so i could send a picture to MCN
He asked me what I was doing and got irate when I told him to clean the spillage up.
WTF has it got to do with you he enquired. I never got a picture
Do not overfill trucks with fuel as it makes the roads crap for riding on
He certainly would Ken
He was only doing it to make people aware of the effect that this can have on the other innocent party. My heart goes out to him!
Callum’s mum
Well,I’ll say one thing Roseanne, you’ve got balls!!!
After watching your story on tv,it makes me admire you more for what you’re doing.I hope that you succeed with your campaign, and while it won’t bring Callum back,if it can save other lives, then it’s got to be worth it.
It’s shocking to think that we as motorists, hand over millions to the treasury, yet have to put up with the kind of roads that you would see in third world countries, which are costing lives. It can just show how little life is valued, due to pennypinching.
Thank you everyone
The programme went okay didn’t it. I have received a lovely message from the HGV driver’s wife, i have nothing but admiration for him, he too is still affected and i have told them that i have tried to create awareness for all road users and the support i have gained from here.
I have received loads of signitures on my petition too
You put your points across without going off on a tangent or getting flustered and I was glad to see the programme ended with a reminder of you campaign re-enforcing the fact this not a “trivial” matter but life and death!
Good luck in your campaign & I hope you get thousands more signatures
