Silly me just read your first post

Happy to offer conversion courses to anyone passed elsewhere or wanting a refresher.

Out of interest how much will an artic conversion course cost.

Regards

Been away for a couple of days so a bit slow responding. Sorry.

I have designed a 3 hour conversion course to include coupling/uncoupling, real-life reversing and, of course, driving at a cost of £200 incl VAT. Individual tuition.

Hope this helps, Pete

Well done on getting your auto’s pete, quick question has the date been set for when people can take there tests in auto’s and be upgraded to a full license yet?

From 10th April 2014 anyone passing their truck or bus test on an automatic vehicle will get a full, manual licence for the appropriate category provided they hold a full manual car licence.

Hope this helps, Pete

Update: artic training available from end of this week.

Amazed at the interest in this. So another upate: the cab wrap has NOT happened! Turned out to be a much bigger task than having them done from new as we normally do. So we’ve gone for our normal stripes and lettering. I’ll get a photo on at some point when I’m feeling techy enough.

Off to collect the trailer this evening - 45’ curtainside tri-axle.

So here’s a “real” truck for anyone who wants to train that way.

Pete

When will there be a photo available of the truck?

Sorry, but I’m not capable of working technology that much!! Yeah, I know, pathetic!

I’ve a feeling it may be on Facebook though. Apologies if I’m wrong.

If you want a generic photo, go for Google images. Put in MAN TGS. Then imagine a 13.8 metre silver trailer hanging on it.

Sorry for being such a techno- wimp.

Pete

Could it be this one?

That’ll be it. Thanks for helping me with that. BTW, it is obviously bigger than the W+D at the side of it, but most of what you see there is a trick of perspective. The artic is actually 1 metre longer and half a metre taller. Whoever took that photo must have worked for the Sunday Sport!

I must ask, is there any particular reason for getting a curtainsider? Quite a few training vehicles have scrapes down the side of the boxes, I’m sure they would do a lot more damage to a curtain.

It shouldn’t be a plan to scrape down the side to start with!!

But, in truth, this trailer presented itself at the right time in the right place and is in excellent condition - new curtains just waiting for the rip!!
