i have mate seymour bought them then they stopped for a bit irc then started again doing me then did the directors buy astran because irc seymour went under then started again but seems you know everything so you will put me right so stop going about your balls and back must be your ageWhy dont people read what has been written many times. Astran Cargo Services Ltd is NOT and has NEVER been anything to do with Seymour Transport.
It just happens to rent offices in the same yard that they operate from!Astran was the first to start ME and is now the only UK company running ME, with a dedicated and reliable bunch of sub contractors that just get on with the job.
i thought people who just use subbies were freight forwarders not a haulage firm
Well done Dreva… You finally got a fact right about Astran Cargo Services Ltd. They ARE a Freight Forwarder and have been since they sold their trucks in the 1980`s

Am i the only one thinking that Frank Hook couldnt wait to see the back of the gifted mechanic ,when the convoy parted company.
He cooked up for most of the trip to be told"thats a bad egg ime ,not eating that"
Came across as a bit of patronising git imo . . .tin hat with chinstrap on .

It’s true that Mr Williams was a bit like Marmite - the few brief times I met him I found him ok but others often couldn’t stand him, but nobody’s popular with everyone!

Although I only met John on his return to driving after his stint as a boat mechanic. I found him a thoroughly nice chap, we all had our own pace and JW and I had a similar speed.
No doubt someone has the copy from an Albanian charity run, he got slated for being cautious, shame really because many of the hares needed recovering. The tortoises were back in Dover Wheelhouse to read about the crap in the magazine
I am intrigued by the C-series ERF towards the right of the picture. It’s in factory rocket red and white. Anyone know anything about it, and if so, was it loading for the Middle East? I wonder where this picture was taken. Although at least two lorries (Jan de Lely and Astran) look as if they might be loading for the Middle East, the pic looks to be somewhere in Europe, not least because of the surroundings and the presence of what looks like an Eastern European sleeper-podded lightweight to the far right. The Arab-looking Merc is almost certainly an Iranian lorry, as Arab Mercs generally didn’t even get into Turkey, let alone Europe. So the location could well be Hamburg in Germany. Suggestions?
Jordanian Mercs were running to the UK in the 70s, they were often parked up at Aldgate East
Excellent! You have probably given me the answer to my question
