They used put a mt coke tin in the round catch as its a good fit and stops the bonnet ratling.
Heat was always a problem on the scanias too, over 40c you darent make them pull hard, just change down and let them rev with as little load as possible

Chazzer, it aināt just Stobarts though, 90% of drivers now are the same, unless itās on a set of printed instructions they aināt got a clue, the worrying thing is not that they canāt do it, itās that they wonāt do it
Everything will be ok by 2014 because all drivers will have had 35 hours of driver cpc training and will know how to do their daily checks (but not rectify even the simplist of tasks) how to enter and exit their cabs safely, how to dress appropriately for their daily work, how to secure their loads with ratchet straps (ropes not mentioned probably those little knots were too confusing to tie) how to address customers politely ā¦ the list goes on ,but dont worry we are all saved by this wonderful new directive ,i for 1 can recommend if you haven`t been on any of the 7 hour courses to get on 1 asap and you too can see your 80 odd quid you worked hard for contribute to the insult to your intelligence ,someone somewhere should get a petition up and get this outlawed sooner rather than later.Dont forget that if you havent got 35 hours worth of attendance in by 2014 you cant drive a hgv.Sorry for the rant but this utter crap gets under my skin

I totally agree with you ramone, been personally involved in transport for over 35yrs (iām just a lad to a lot on here) & before that I spent all the time I could either riding with dad on the engine humps of various Beavers & Buffalos, then progressing to the passengers seat of a Marathon before the dizzy heights of a Transcon. Iāve learnt & been taught a lot from the old chap, some of his & my old work colleagues and iām still not frightened to take a bit of advice from one of the āold boysā. However, the driver CPC is what weāve got to do. We canāt opt out. Weāve just got to sit there & take it. We all know its b*****ks and weāre better than that. If we can sit in RDCās for hours on end, traffic jams, take the every day abuse we get off joe public & keep our professional dignity, we can put up with this rubbish.
