For anyone interested, the latest/August edition of Heritage Commercials has an article on the first Leyland Marathon prototype WTJ 120L, pictured in The Long Haul Pioneers by Ashley on Page 144, on a trial run for Astran. It’s been fully restored (in its present owners colours) but who cares, the main thing is it’s a bit of history restored, & a quality job they’ve done too. A couple of good pics from its past are featured too.
Chris

Not sure if has been mentioned, but there is a small article in July’s Classic & Vintage Commercials about Gordon Pearce being reunited with Asian Transports old AEC. They are planning on doing a full article on it’s restoration in the future. Pity none of the Vabis’s survived as they would look the part on the shows.
