Well there we go mate not everybody did Italy and as i m pretty new to this site I didn t pick up all the earlier threads. In those days mid 80s there were also alot of Irish drivers in Novara and i recall Janine and her man Vito making carrot cake and boiled spuds for them . As John Mcvey said happy days long gone now .Have a nice day Newmercman regards the Crow.

i got treated to a very expensive lunch by her (by default, long story) in the late 80s, think she called her company CBM but not sure on that, hads something to do with The Best SRL who ran the black W&Ds with green writing - all a bit hazy now though

Hi Steve, “This is Ridiculous” is buried in this forum somewhere but for anyone that’s not bored of it click on the link below, Dave created a site for it, bless him!Cheers Steve, I’ll email you soon
Just had a quick read through and Dave has edited the tale a little, probably to protect the innocent (or guilty?) but it’s intact for the most part. J.Mc
A great read, thanks for taking the time to write it.
Johnny
I’ve just read the article in this weeks Commercial motor magaine about Astran owner-driver Mark Stewarts story of his custom Scania 141 and wanted to say I wholeheartedly agree with his statements about the 141 being ‘the daddy of the truck world’ and ‘the best truck ever built’
These have long been my sentiments too, as I shared his dream of wanting to own a 141 myself. It took me a bit longer to get mine but I wouldn’t part with it now.
Regards,
Rowland.
Rowland:- Thanks for the comments about the CM article. I’m proud to have been asked to write it Mark will be at Gaydon on the Sunday this year should you wish to speak to him I will try and pursuade him to wear his Astran T shirt
when i look at my 141 i realise i am the luckys guy to arrived to own one im so lucky i get a big chuff regards rowly

Hi Ash I also read and enjoyed your article in the C.M. but wondered what Mark Stewart has done since his 141 caught fire and do you know if he’s still involved with road haulage??
Thanks Matty.
