I would say overall about 73 feet in length, this was mine just ready to leave for Laredo, TX. Double bed on the bottom, single on top.

Always wondered what the inside of some of these big American trucks looks like ,some of them look massive
Plenty of YouTube videos give you an idea… youtube.com/watch?v=_N19j2uNgxo
The trailers may only be 8’ longer, but it’s the pin to axle length that makes them seem a lot longer, on a euro triaxle the pin is well back and the center axle on a triaxle is well forward, so you have about ten feet less between those points, that’s important for maneuverability, or lack of in the case of the US plant. Now stick a 6m wheelbase unit in front of it that has no steering lock and you’ll need a lot of room to make it go backwards
What about fifth wheel locking?
Can you unhook your trailers from the cab with a button somewhere?
Or are some the same as us,get out hail ,rain, snow and pull the handle

I have seen only two that unhook from inside the cab via a switch, one was a Walmart truck and the other was a KW owned by Rich (Longwayround) Browne.
The Vermont permits state… Max 73 ft long, and they mean ‘MAX’ even an inch over and you get a ticket. Max 41 feet from the kingpin to the hub centre of the lead axle of the trailer, I used to slide the fith wheel as far forward as possible, got pulled afew times in Woodstock VT and measured, after a while the village cop get to know me and would just salute the Union Jack and wave me by
probably, but then im on a motor wi the cab comforts o leyland clydesdale…
we dont have a a clip for locking the 5th wheel handle.
if you are lucky you might have a air operated (pulls the pins on the tandem ) slider for your trailer…if not and you are loaded /on snow urfd.
think loading paper reels in a van, axles right to the back for loading(forklift weight) and the kin pins fall wi all the jigling the forklift makes …snow on the ground ,took me nearly 2hrs to get them right for the weights.no fkr about to pull the pin when shunting about.
moving the 5th wheel cough cough ,flick dash switch and on wae the trailer brake handle(spike) ,no to be used when moving to hard as ya might lose the 5th wheel wi the trailer …try explaining that…(the weld on the runner broke).
not guilty but kinda advised a newbie
when his was stuck…
