No mate its not mine, a friend has just bought it.
William Rowe with his first cattle truck.
William Rowe & Sons Ltd from Elford nr Tamworth celebrated 75 years in business in 1990, below are a few cuttings from the Tamworth Herald. William Rowe who was originally from Leicester was landlord of The Crown public house CIRCA 1910. Just down the A513 from Elford village was Elford train station, bagging coal from railway trucks would be delivered by William Rowe around the area to local customers by horse and cart, later on mechanical horse power which was used along side the horse and cart.
Wm Rowe & Sons moved to Greendale Garage in the 1930’s and went Limited in 1935, after nearly 80 years of Road Haulage and Cattle transportation they went out of business in the mid 90’s as so many long establisted Road haulage firms did around that time.
