Anyone here worked for flybynite near Redditch?

Sorry yes should have explained a bit clearer. I don’t work for FBN right now.

Basically, I’m wondering what the money would be like, how changeable/seasonal the job is, typical working day/week/whatever. Just looking at different types of work really. I heard that you can be away for months but possibly get more time off. Can’t verify much of it though.

I’m on fridges right now and while the job is easy I take home about £600 a week for minimum of 12 hours a day 5 days a week. Not much time to have a life. Only time off at Christmas is Christmas Day, that’s it.

Well that’s the downside of employed , I used to be allowed no holidays from last 2 weeks in dec , 1 st week in jan , I often got back Xmas eve / New Year’s Eve with just the bloke who locks the yard up there , if rota fell ok I may of got Xmas eve / New Year’s Eve off , often would leave for work 12/ 1 am on New Year’s Day when everyone was out in street still celebrating ,
I remember going out New Year’s Day with 4 drops on and every place was shut , I sat at Barnsley for 2 hours on a industrial est , massive lock on gate being told someone was comming , no one ever appeared , all the way to Hull I think it was for a tesco shop that was waiting for me , locked up , in darkness , staff long gone
As I say its my recollected of employed on fridges

You’ll could probably get by with some ■■■■ tattoos and a cowboy hat

Theres a bird on FB who has a sizable following on YouTube IIRC who has just done a double drive job for the last month or so, whos pretty shattered by the experience [reading between the lines]

But, I`ve got mates on for various outfits who love it, so its one of those jobs where you either fit in & take to it, or you soon realise that its not for you and ship out PDQ

If it’s that Lina Lass she’s been on for Brian Yeardleys out of Featherstone, they’ve got into the tour and exhibition work now.

COMING FROM THE MAN WHOS FAMILY IS SO IMPORTANT THAT HE WANTS TO WORK CHRISTMAS EVE THIS YEAR ,

I work for FBN , and have done for over 10 years . Ignore all the crap posted above and send me a pm with any specific questions you have .
We’ve been back touring since the end of the pandemic , with a few of the fleet fulfilling general haulage contracts we had to get us thru Covid . The majority of the fleet are now re- registered in Ireland due to Brexit .
I’ve just done the busiest year of touring yet , with very little time at home , and the money has increased so earnings are very satisfactory these days .
We tour extensively across Europe and further afield and the fleet is due a big upgrade of units and trailers very soon.
I’m not looking at going anywhere else , great job with people who become lifelong friends .
This job is not for everyone though , and if your not a team player , don’t bother . As I’ve said , feel free to pm me .
Shade .

All hail the all knowing Oracle…

Why did you even post that, I wasn’t asking you. I don’t give a toss what you do.

Because you, in your usual dismissive “I know it all” voice, said:

\That’s the average working week in UK haulage, it’s a job with long hours so you’re going to likely be doing that or not much less wherever you go. You are entitled to 28 days paid leave a year, are you getting those?

You’re sweeping statement is wrong, so I gave an actual example of how a fulltime employed driver can easily work less than 60+ hours, and still take home more than £600 a week.

I worked for FBN from 2009 to 2012, and then Stage Truck (FBN’s main competitor) from 2012 to 2020. I was going to go back to work for FBN in 2021 but my licence was revoked due to a medical condition.

If you’re happy living in a cab, away from home, for months at a time then it’s the job for you! The money is brilliant and the working conditions are far better than any other driving job in road transport, including F1.

I’ll be giving FBN a call once I get my licence back. I wouldn’t go back to normal road transport, too much like hard work - touring is more like a working holiday!
