Good for you. From experience when a driver says Tesco shunters and drivers are A$$holes it’s because they wish they earned as much money or had such agood job.

I can tell you this now … If you got a job with Tesco, (not a contractor like Stobarts) I’ll bet you would change your views.
The tugs are much better for reversing as that’s what they are designed for…so backing a trailer with them is easier…
I agree drivers have to learn the art of going backwards. But to the shunters who take the ■■■■…the driver may only have passed the test a few days earlier - so remember that before making judgement!
And also remember there is likely to be something that the driver is very good at that you can’t do very well!!!

I did a very brief stint shunting for Stobbies at Tesco. I was on a shift with two other drivers who’d gone from driving to shunting and had been driving twice as long as I had.
I did three trailer movements to one of theirs and often ended up having to realign the trailers they’d put on the bay because they didn’t do it properly.
I see you as being one of those. I saw quite a few gobshyte drivers like you who gave it all that like you have and then watched them laughing my head off as they made a complete balls up.
Unlike you I can actually reverse a trailer anywhere I damned well want to because I spent the first 6 months after passing my Class 1 shunting in a yard so tight you couldn’t leave more than a ■■■ packet width in between trailers and you had to be able to do that blindside as well and the “tug” was a 6 wheel twin steer Leyland Roadtrain.

I hate tesco with I passion my veins are about to burst with my bp sky high never had any dealings with Stobart so I have no axe to grind with them…

It might not be a case of them not wanting to help, they may have tried before and got their help thrown back in his face by an arrogant youngster who thinks he knows it all, just like they can be with any other sensible advise you try to give em!
