neilf, the interior shot of my Swedish motor it was, if i remember a 2000 model. The 3 lockers above the bed in my opinion were only fitted in XL models. The full leather and red and dark blue seats as far as i know (from Globetrotters ive driven) were only fitted in the XL.
These pictures are from Danish registered motors. All pics apart from 1st one are from same motor.

you can just see the digital display above the window wiper stalk, this was ok in the motors i drove that had them, but they werent very bright, on a trip to Spain and Portugal it was hard to read.(the ones i had that had this were 1996 model onward)

Another CD trim, but with dials, not the digital display.

You can see this one has the electric drivers seat.

i would swap my 61 reg XL with i-shift for one of these at the drop of a hat!
That makes two of us! Thanks for the happy memories, I got my truck wings in my one if you know what I mean
Although I’ve very limited experience of the later mk2 and Mk3 FHs I think the build quality of the mk1 was far better. I too would happily pilot one today.
I’m sure that there were various options available around Europe and I know that ours were basic CD spec, with no optional extras apart from an air seat for the passenger side.
Those later interior shots that Kindle530 posted show fitment of both ATC and electric seats without the full leather trim. I think the bottom leather sleeper walls would have been aftermarket though.
Having ground every last detail out about CD spec trucks did we ever get to the bottom of what “Royal Class” entailed and from which country they were available?.
Yes I too would happily leap into one of them early FH’s. I think the ‘Royal Class’ prefix was from NL along with ‘Business Class’ although exactly what each package offered I don’t know. I think in France it was Prestige or something, and here in Danmark it was strangely known as New York trim, now wheres that anorak?
I have just sold a 2002 version 2 fh globetrotter and rebought a version one i sold to a friend a few yrs ago, the bersion one is a much better truck in my opinion i shall be getting another, simpler is better !
