IEC is the one if you qualify
I didn’t get that far in the questionnaire, it stopped me because I didn’t have any language test results. Should I just select it anyway and see how far I get?

Yeah see what it says after that

It seems the IEC is geared towards students. I’d also need a letter from an employer basiclly saying they will give me a job if I’m accepted. I don’t think IEC is the right route for me. Its also logged me out and I can’t find how I’m supposed to get back in.
Then a work permit may be your only option

Is that a bad thing? I have a feeling that my options are slowly dwindling.
You’ll need to find an employer willing to pay $1000 for an LMIA then fly you over to work for them if the work permit route is your only option

Hmm. I guess those are thin on the ground? In other news,
Express Entry
You might be eligible for Express Entry, which includes the following federal economic immigration programs:
the Federal Skilled Worker Program
the Federal Skilled Trades Program
the Canadian Experience Class
I take it that is good?
I think some people are trying via the express entry route but I’ve no knowledge of how it works
What would truck driving come under for NOC’s?
NOC 7411 is the reference used over here when advertising jobs but not sure which option you’d choose from those - I’d guess none of the above as you’re not classed as professional

I would of thought since it requires specialist training which falls under Skill level B.
Unskilled labour I’m afraid I would expect you’d be turned down going through that option
Just checked, its classed as a C level job.
None of the above it is then
Radar, don’t apply under Express Entry only IEC (International Experience Class). This is for anyone between 18-30yrs old.
I’ll PM you later.
I’ll let Neil advise you as I’m only experienced in pnp and PR

Sweet. It denied my application on the questionaire for express entry. I guess even though I have a degree, with only truck driving experience which doesn’t count means I’m at a dead end on that front. Still, not giving up yet.

Cheers for the help though
Radar, pm’d you.
IEC is the way to go pal, I have just been accepted through that route, stopped with my friends in Alberta in May, applied to CIC before I left, two weeks later I got an invitation to apply for a work permit and got accepted about 3 weeks later, gonna come over in September and let nature take its course! All I needed to do it write a resume, fill in a form about my immediate family and get a police check and scan the relevant documents they wanted and pay the $200 fee. Really is that simple! I am 28 with no dependants so there the way I went. To be honest, I think it was probably harder to apply for the police check than a work permit. Worth a try buddy, you got nothing to loose and lots to gain!
