seen as though hes more famous than beverley bell on here, i think we should have an ask Angus page so we can all ask questions about tacho rules or road laws etc

When Rikki gets to interview the man, he could ask if he is a member already
How about the Bev and Angus show
or
The Tachograph Show
They could open a steak bar chain called Tacho Bell
you could always message angus on facebook

Is Rikki getting a interview? It would be a interesting read he is now a celebrity in the trucking world
DoYouMeanMe?:
Correct. That job also includes making it safe for my old mother to walk up to the shop and not have her door kicked in by local scumbags. Not have some drug dealing [zb] using her drive as a sales pitch for supplying the local junkies and when you try to ring up no-one is available 'cos they are all too busy stopping decent truck drivers and trying to find a way to relieve your wallet for any petty infringement.
Yes, I do have a problem with public servants who don’t serve, but instead seem to have been transferred to the tax collection services.
I cannot disagree with what you say here . What some people do forget, whether genuinley or coincedentally is that irrespective of your views on traffic police their main purpose is to promote road safety and prevent accidents. Yes some are jobsworths and let others down by abusing their position . Some driver though quote petty infringements, nicking real criminals etc but fiddling your tachos, speeding, using a phone when driving and all those other petty matters which some drivers get up to do lead to accidents. The decent truck drivers have nothing to fear.
I would not want drug dealers dealing at my mothers house or my TV stolen from my house but I could live with it and maybe get over it. What I couldn’t get over is somebody coming to my door and telling me that my wife/son/daughter etc had been killed by a driver of a vehicle… and by the way although it was an accident at the same time they had been doing one of those petty traffic charges
I have yet to see somebody who has had their stereo stolen break down and cry hysterically like somebody who has lost somebody in a crash.

And tell him how dangerous it is to have children without seatbelts or proper restraints riding on some sort of quad bike
Or maybe it never moved !!

Are you sensing a general concensus from the public who pay for the service that they are not happy with the direction its going?

You know what McPlod, I always thought that and the same about TFL, until on day when the race team I had worked for that year and was paying me all through the year even though the truck would not turn a wheel. The boss said I could use it as an O/D if I wanted and split the money somehow, but with the O licence being restricted I thought that was not a great option and I asked if I could use the truck which was all nicely painted up in team colours, to promote road safety. All I had to cover was the fuel costs as my wages were being paid.
The plan was hatched where I could use the truck to let people who have never been in a truck, come and sit in it and see what a driver can and can’t see and maybe even partition off an bit of ground and let them just start to turn the truck/trailer and see how blind you are at that point. Maybe in supermarket car-parks, cycling clubs and even road planners/town hall staff etc.
You would pee yourself laughing at some of the replies I got. TFL reckoned that there was no problem with cyclists diving up the inside of trucks and there had been no such accidents recorded, but the best was Derbyshire police who said that Road safety was not their concern. I begged him to put that in writing.
So you see McPlod I’m not sure any of these people actually do give a toss about road safety, more use it to justify their jobs, wages and departments continued existence.
it appears that the bald, jock, turncoat is above the law.
he was in the p&o office at liverpool docks. that’s right, not even his area.
then, whilst drivers are at REST, before getting on the ferry, he is doing tacho checks.
he made one of them drop his trailer, then take 24 hours off. therefore preventing him from going home.
what a [zb].
