No information on where this headed…

I wonder if his overnight bag, plank for the seats, set of curtains and his cooking gear are in the back of the tilt. He might have to wait till he gets to the Turkish border before that’s unsealed…

Closer shot of the famous big j…

So registered 1969/70 and Cummins-powered. Probably NT 220 or possibly a NTC 250.

There does look to be something painted in white on the front grille but i can’t make it out…

It says: 240 Gardner 8LXB

NH 220 Or NHC 250 I would guess, both non turbo. Fuller gearbox would be the small 0610 or 0609 behind the 220 or a David Brown 06 600, but the 250 would require the large Fuller 9509 since the engine would exceed the torque input limit for the smaller 'box and the same for the David Brown or even the AEC D203. I suppose the other option could be a ZF AK 680?

I’m intrigued by this C-series ERF with what is probably double-drive that used to do Middle East. It has AVONLINE on the headboard. Does anyone know any more about it or about the operator?

Don’t remember seeing this before…

He should thank his lucky stars he hadn’t got to drive that Guy to Afghanistan like the Astran one did!

Dont remember seeing the Atkis before…

The Atkis were shipped out for use as ‘internals’ IIRC, but were damaged in transit (probably as deck cargo). That Foden might well have been a classic Ancient Brit heading east. It is well documented elsewhere, but godknoze where!
