Having used a digital tachograph for the past 4 years I am now going back onto analogue having started my own business. Just about to order some boxes of tacho’s and not sure which to get■■? Didn’t realise there were different ratings as such. My choices are 125kph,then 140,100,125 and 180kph auto?? I will be using them in an 06 plate MAN TGA430. Cheers!
Not a clue but good luck hope it goes well for you
standard tacho discs are the 125kph ones ! if you’re MAN needs the 140 [kph ones or above your limiter is broken
afaik they all use the standard shaped hole in the middle now as well

Ahhh that was my next question! I have a choice of pear shape centre or standard, but there’s also a mention of computer read numbered■■?
Most likely the 125km ones but you also need to look at the ‘e’ numbers on a sticker in the tacho head and then check to see that at least one of those numbers appears in the list on the back of the charts.

Just make sure the EC approval numbers match the tacho head, the plate will tell you the speed too
have a look at the tacho ‘speedo’ i think the max speed shown in KPH is the type you need. if it’s a pull out one like a cd player it should have on it what one’s it needs.
125kph is the most common. the MAN tga in our fleet that’s still on analogue has the kienzle cd player style unit in it and takes the 125s
Open the tacho head and the speed rating will be on a sticker inside. The standard one for a hgv is the 125kph one.
Thanks for all the help. If you were wondering why I didn’t just do the obvious and open the tacho head it’s because I haven’t got it in my possession yet. Should be on the road in 2 weeks hopefully.
