An entertaining run in with Tesco heavies (security men)

That ones been a no-go for trucks for at least a decade and its our fault not the flip flops this time . as said before you used to get away with parking down by Tescos and around the back of what I think is now a camping shop over the roundabout but the mess got too bad

Maybe there were just too many unexpected items in the area

I do agree with everything you say there is no excuse whatsoever for leaving crap behind and it only results in a parking ban.
What I would say is if councils were not so intent on cost cutting and provided bins it would help to sort the situation with most drivers with bad habits, although I admit it would have no effect on the no hope terminally ignorant, and anti social types that are unfortunately among us.
We are getting off thread here so to get back to it, I have since remembered that I was once challenged on that site when returning from food shopping, but not as aggressively as Luke was. That was about 7 or so years ago, I came back laden with carrier bags and was told firmly but politely not to park there again, so it is nothing new in that particular store, but it has obviously got worse.

I’m no apologist for Tesco but their response does sound positive.

There’s a lay-by just off the M40 in Oxfordshire (which is on the A418, rutted and hidden by trees, but you can get back to the southbound M40 easily enough) and the council have provided a bin, but there’s still an awful lot of rubbish lying round it, in the bushes. Obviously sometimes it’s because the bin is full, but drivers could always just put their rubbish in a bag and dispose of it somewhere else. So even when councils provide bins, drivers still leave litter.

Been said elsewhere, there’s low lifes in every social and motoring dynamic so even if there’s a bin provided rubbish will still be thrown. Just like scrotes who have a ■■■■■ against the wheel of their truck then walk to the services.

behind what I think is now decathalon was a carpet and a Halfords I think there was two or three skips. the problem was people dropping trowel around them and the poor unsuspecting store staff loaded up with rubbish often landed in a depth charge .at the time you could still find a place on the services and there was truckworld and the cabin only 5 mins away . don’t think theeses goons are employed by Tesco its the estate holder even try do get a dirty donalds and they will be on you. there was quite a bit about them in the truck mags I seem to remember

All this macho bravado  there were 3 of em ffs !
I’m a big lad, but I learned a long time ago the hard way, that you don’t try and fight numbers, which is why I have what looks like a Nike logo on the side of my shaved head (scar) caused by a boot going in.

I bet you started it

With regard to parking the wagon in supermarket car parks to do my shopping, I’ve been doing it for years and have never had a problem. All I do is go straight to customer services and tell them what I’m doing and where I’m parked, and if there’s any problem, call the number on the door and they’ll let me know. I’m always polite and I ask with a smile and as result, no problems. Quite often, if needs be, I take a break as well. Again, I ask first, and I’ve yet to be refused.

One of the many joys of not acting like a lorry driver is not being treated like one…

I wasn’t in the car park. I never take the truck into supermarket car parks, unless its 2am.

Just tell them to f off then ignore them. It does not matter how many of them approach you, they cant touch you without opening up an assault charge. I know from security guys that if they see someone on their site they can chase but they are not allowed to apprehend. They are not allowed to touch them and must let the police catch them

You could have played the celebrity card Luke, " don’t you know who I am ? ", that really would have peed them off !!
Regards. John.

I just can’t believe anymore would do such a thing - opening your door and abusing anyone is totally unacceptable. I now live in Perth Australia and when ever I have to park up in an isolated place in the dark, the doors are locked before the truck stops…taking a pee is a fast exercise jump back in the cab and doors locked !!!

If they were in a security car what would of been funny is “oops SOORRRRYYYYY seems like my trailer has just run over your vehicle”  …hope they get banned from doing any further security work nothing more than thugs !!!

Switch you’re an ungrateful so and so! Tosco bend over backwards to attract your business and then you go and spend your hard earned in Sainsburys (Swindon). Just no loyalty these days, well done.

Id a been bagging up the shopping and getting a full refund.

You do get security guards who like to big up their part.

that’s why I always had a tyre bar just behind the drivers seat often find that a big solid lump of metal levels out the numbers and makes said guards ■■■■ there pants.

but am older now and agree I don’t fancy getting a kicking but doubt I would have stayed as calm as luke did (was banned from the tyne tunnel for arguing with one of there gestapos).

good to see that they have acted or are going to though.
