I saw one in the bar there not long after the new place opened, fit as a butcher’s dog, being young, free and single I was going to have a crack at it, but once I found out she was a brass I concentrated on the one a few feet further along the bar, who was heavier and uglier, but free and she even bought me a pint, I just closed my eyes and convinced myself she looked like her for hire friend 
I had a few nights out in the stockyard recently. Jesus there is some munters get in there and i know its a few years since i was young and slim but I’m still handsome. 
But i had to do the swerve when one went to the bog she was all over me like a rash.

“Yep, just let me have 20 whiskeys at the bar first” she threw a tray at me then for some reason
Rich Browne and me stopped at the TA in Ruby road CT yesterday and for the second time this week the gate house as un-manned and parking was free ?

I’m relieved she did, she was extremely rough.
What are the main differences compared to UK MSAs,and pee riden lay bys,in the UK.Do you get bottomless and free coffee,good quality and value for your meals.?Are the showers good or bad,rats and mice avoid the showers in the UK MSAs,it is too dirty for them.
Is the service decent from waiting staff,can you park near to Dennys,or only cars allowed?Is there a problem with load and cab theft,what entertainment is on offer,a bowling alley,a cinema near by,or club for the ladies?
I can try a few points. I remember UK truck stops from when I lived there and they were far better than most over here. Some odd stops are good but most are very poor. Pilot are the worst with riddiculous regulations, parking spaces with no room to reverse in, a stupid 2 hour parking limit that everyone ignores due to a 10 hour rest regulation, they have only fast food that is garbage compared to main truck stops with proper diners. TA are dirty and old but do have proper eatery’s in most cases, Petro have better facility’s but are actually owned by TA, Loves is about as bad as Pilot.
None have bars for any entertainment when a driver spends all night or even a 34 hour re-set. It is not safe to walk the parking areas in most of these places at night.
In contradiction to my first coment the best truck stop I stopped at out west was in fact a Pilot on !-40 exit 39 in New Mexico, it had a small shopping mall inside and a very good diner.
Pilot have now taken over one of the USA’s best chain … ‘Flying J’ , they intend to rip out all the excelent diners and install Deny’s in all of them.
As for stopping outside a Denys at about 30 miles north of the Virginia/NC line (Stoney Creek) there is a Davis truck stop that is very impresive with really good showers and a Denys a few hundred yards away. I would recomend this stop.
Just across the Florida/ Georgia line in I-95 there is another really good stop, can’t remember the name, but it has a choice of several food stands, and drivers are collected from and returned to their trucks on shuttles cars
Ok how about from a woman’s point of view, Pilot has the dirtiest bathrooms on the planet Mexico outhouses are cleaner. Never been in the men’s but with the way men are I really don’t even want to imagine it. TA that I stopped at were actually reasonably clean, they have regular restaurants with all you can eat menus. Which is good when you are a non meat eater. Flying J use to be very good until Pilot took them over. Love’s only stopped at one that was an emergency. There are a number of independent truck stops which are far better for being clean and for service. Been to a number of BP stops that were really nice and close to restaurants and shopping. It also depends where you are. There is a truck stop in Minot ND called Crossroads it has wonderful allround pullin parking is really nice and clean, and close to almost eveything for food and shopping you need. You want ■■■■■■ truck stops travel in Canada.
On all my travels I have only found two truck stops where a 34 hour reset seems bareable, where a driver can relax with a beer and enjoy … one is the small independant one at exit 21 or could be 21b on the NY thruway (I-87) Near Ravena and a really good on just a few miles east of Portland Oregon on I-84, the TA there is probably the best TA in the country.
I remember my nights out in the UK and there was always a bar and entertainment, I actually loved my nights out back then, now all I like is getting them over with and on my way home.
Good info,thanks,there used to be female stripper at truckstop in east london,about 3 to 4 young ladies that danced around with a beer glass for the punters to put one pound coins in,or whatever you wanted,the place was full when the dancers were on too,good for buisness.

Most british truck stops had strippers … Chesterfield BRS truckstop had some real skanks One called ‘Ginger’ comes to my mind, she once stood in front of me stark naked and asked “any request ?”
I said “yeah, put hill street blues back on the telly”

Pat, your view of the truckstop scene is rather distorted due to the area you travel in, the north east is not the best place for truckstops, they’re thin on the ground and those that are there are falling to bits, the rest of the country is much better, the big chains are ok for parking and now Flying J has started putting Dennys in the food has improved, but it’s still crap out of a tin or box, of the big chains the Petro are the best with the Iron Skillet resturaunts, TA’s are old and in need of a refurb, Pilot and Loves are just jumped up fuel stations with a fast food joint on the property, if you think the parking spots are tight in your motor try getting mine in one
The best truckstops are the independants, commonly known as Mom & Pop stops, they usually have local food and it’s mostly fresh, the drivers that use them are more ‘old school’ and they tend not to pee in the parking lot and show some signs of being civilised (for Americans )
Saying that I mostly use the truckstops for overnight parking, fuel and a shower, I try to avoid them for eating, faced with a choice of truckstop nosh or a McD’s, I’ll take the burger everytime, at least that way I’m not disappointed when my meal has no nutritional value, whereas in the truckstops you get a huge plate that looks appealing but tastes of minced cardboard 
Mark, You forget that before I started with Foodliner I did coast to coast, north to south so I have stopped at quite a few stops nationwide.
I agree that the Mom & Pop stops are better, I merely voiced my oppinion on the rubbish chains we have to put up with. Most Pilots take over good stops and rip out the diners to put fast food holes in. A few Pilots are close to good diners, at the Pilot on I-95 in CT (exit 40) there are a couple of good places within walking distance and the one at Newburgh has a great diner opposite, I just park my truck and walk over for real food.
The Irving Big stops in Maine have a pretty good restaurant but like you say not much for truckstops in the North East. I used to see quite a few Canadian trucks getting groceries at the Palmyra ME (Newport exit) Walmart.
Drivers don"t have time for a sit down meal now, allmost every truck i see has a cooler on the passenger seat, hope they don"t outlaw 'eating n" driving"
