Amazon at it again!

sapper:
Are these posts for real?, if I turned up at a delivery point and was told that I had to hand my keys in and be locked in a room whilst waiting to be unloaded, they can [zb] hof and [zb] the consequences, I am a human being, this is what they did in the 1940s in Auswich,

Only page 2 and Godwin’s law comes into play. Quality.

We know the locking took place, so why is Amazon effectively saying it didn’t?

Do we? I’ve seen plenty of drivers, including some on my Facebook page, saying that they don’t lock you up.

Purely on the grounds of full disclosure, I have just ordered several items from Amazon.

Should I lock the delivery driver, most likely from DPD, in my bathroom while I check the delivery. There is a seat of sorts in there and fresh water is available. There is unfortunately no television or video entertainment in the room, unless I happen to be just about to get in the bath when he arrives.

This is shocking if this is the case.

Why don’t they install a barred window, then when the employees are bored they can come and have a look at them, not forgetting the obligatory, ‘Do not feed the drivers’ sign.

Heres a email i got back from amazon

Dear Mr V

My name is Stephen Lourdes and I work within Amazon.co.uk Executive Customer Relations.

I am contacting you on behalf of the office of Mr Jeff Bezos, Amazon CEO. After reviewing your correspondence of 28th October, Mr Bezos has requested that I respond to your e-mail.

Rest assured however, Mr Bezos takes e-mails like yours very seriously and is very aware of the issue and our response both to you as well as internally to the various relevant departments

We are currently completing the fit out of our Dunfermline fulfilment centre ahead of it becoming fully operational in the coming weeks. We do have a waiting area for drivers which includes seating. Drivers are not locked within this area. Any reports to the contrary are incorrect.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us.

Best regards,

Stephen Lourdes
Executive Customer Relations

Off topic a bit but funny. At my parents this weekend and this morning they had this small doormat delivered from Amazon, in this insane about of packaging! Nothing else, just the doormat. Unbelievable.

Yeah…

So my day driver went there , and reported back to me, he had to wait until near his booking time, he was then allocated a bay, escorted to the slammer, where he and several other drivers were provided with plastic seats, a coffee machine and toilet facilities but no telly … the only questionable bit now is that they WERE LOCKED IN… his full load was tipped in 45 mins…

So Amazon ARE Lying then!!
Why don’t they open the place finished? Instead of using the fact it’s still undergoing fitting out as an excuse for shoddy treatment of visiting Drivers! :astonished: :unamused:

Just to make things clear.I have been in to amazon dunfermilinet this morning.Bookrd for 8am arrived at 7.10.Gatehouse opened 7.30.Had to open the back door to have the load checked?

Then allocated a bay. There were to guys watching me back on.Then chock wheels. Two guys then accompanied ne to waiting room where there were chairs table two toilets ,coffee machine and water cooler.I was not locked into room.I settled down to watch a video but after 20mins the two guys returned with paperwork saying your tipped.Left at 8.25 not a bad tip although I was told that it gets worse later.

So after all the talk I can say that Its not true about being locked in.When I mentioned about the bad publicity the two guys told me that in the first few weeks it wasn’t so good.

I just thought I would post this report so that anybody going there will know its not so bad after all.I dont work for Amazon and have not been paid.Honest!!!

Anyone any idea why Amazon moved from Glenrothes to Dunfermline? They’ve only moved 15 miles down the road. :unamused:

the place is huge!!!

yes it was true mate as it happened to member of my family and it stop toot sweet after it was every local paper around here and the fire brigade went in and sorted out a few things including what there own staff were having to endure!! amazing how suddenly companys can change.

Aah Amazon. We delivered to both Amazon Glenrothes and Gourock and it was like chalk and cheese. Glenrothes were a shower of s*** while we never had any problems at Gourock. Just recently had a load of 23 pallets refused because they were higher than 1.7m. brought back to the warehouse to be re-worked. out with the measuring tape and two pallets were just above 1.7. Moved six boxes and sent it out again. why couldnt they have just done that and saved a lot of unneccesary aggro. Just got me started again, aaaaarghh :imp: :imp: :imp:
