No mate. I am a bit different to you pal. I encourage, you discourage.

You will go away soon. You remind me of a dog ■■■■. Dreadful at first, but soon clears off.

You’re left wing, I’m right wing.

You are the definitive truck driver; fat, ugly, sweaty and brain dead!

A well thought out response.

What is your next move? Call me a stinky ■■■ brain??

Enjoy your school holidays, but don’t talk to strangers.

Isn’t that Eddie the Eagle?

i was working in retail and still am at this moment in time, i passed my HGV class 2 the other week and done the cpc, yes it cost about 2k all in one everything is paid but i look as it as an investment, i was earning 18k and i had an interview the other day with a company and have to wait till i get my cpc card sent to me before i can have the job, provided i pass my assessment with them in which im pretty sure i wont ■■■■ up. they pass £11.88 an hour and i will be earning more money than i did in retail. so i dont think it is a waste of money but i guess before anyone does it they should work out what they are on to what they can earn, there are jobs out there you just have to be bothered to look properly to find them, i did and i found quite a few taking on new drivers to and paying decent wages to start off with.

Nice one Matty! Was that through an agency introduction, or a bit of shoe leather and initiative?

P.S. Don’t tell V40LLY you’re on that rate, as he’s clearly not and somewhat upset about it…

I’d be very interested to know who pays £11.88 for HGV 2. Unless, that is a misunderstanding?

was through agency, got to do 8 weeks on them at £9.88 then go onto the companies contract after, and for the record and i have heard some not so good things about them its for P&H, i was shocked at how much they would pay but i am not going to argue for a first job!

There is a P&H not too far from me (Fareham) and the agencies are constantly advertising. As they are for Bidvest and Brakes in my area. Pay looks good for a Newbie, and they don’t seem bothered about experience either. However, that does pretty much tell you that they can’t keep the staff and the job isn’t easy.

But it’s a start pal and gives you that magical experience that the more desirable jobs demand…

P.S. V40LLY, wouldn’t be any good for you, as i’m sure it said something about a positive attitude!

They are ghost jobs advertised by agencies, you silly little boy. They’re designed to entice unsuspecting driver’s, who have never experience agency work before, to come in and sign up. This is to add to their jar of surplus names, so that if, Boots ring at 3am asking for a driver, because one of their’s has rung in ill. Or, you may not hear anything from them for 2 months and they’ll call you out of the blue to ask you if you could do a job in a 7.5 tonner (handball, that everyone else has refused) the following day for minimum wage.

Or, maybe, you’ll never hear from them afterwards, at all.

You’ve got a lot to learn.
