What about an Actros as we have some spare air horns floating around.
if you just want a nice quick easy bit of noise use the train horns, fit them behind passenger step on the actros and put the 2 wires straight to the supply for the normal horn, no messing about, push the button on the stalk and your horn goes off
, theres also a blank on the air tank on the actros to run the tube straight up the passenger side of the chassis and into the horn

I think i will get the electric train horns so cheers for that.
After talking and asking around we bought a air horn 750mm Italian make called Marco from CDC truck stuff cost £77.00 delivered all in,
All we had to buy was a t - peice and 6mm tubing fitted it onto the pto for the tipper line ,had to cut a small rectangle hole in the roof lining to enable the pull cord to work.
one hour tops to fit and the noise ; fantastic a real deep parp frightens the life out of people and weve actually fitted it facing backwards and slightly to the kerbside,ha ha oh do they jump!! yeah yeah illegal in town, probably go to prison!
Oh 138 decibels as well quality, well pleased.
Tricky d

The horn’s fitted to the roof of an Actros or MAN are a brand called KUHN,they are a top quality horn. They make a deeper noise than your Swedish manufacturer’s. Iveco horn’s are rubbish, they corrode within month’s and the air supply does not go in flush underneath, youneed to leave some pipe exposed - the pipe will leak eventually this way.
If i was thinking of fitting horn’s i’d just fit the Deisel train horn’s like Chaversdad suggested, quick easy and cheapest.
I recently bought some Kleinn train horns off E bay. They were second hand and came with a compressor and air tank. They have three trumpets and are the loudest horns I have ever heard They nearly shake my little Citroen Saxo apart when I sound them. Look on the internet for train horns lots for sale in America but very few in the UK.
I think the train horns sound awful (each to their own though), had some fiited to my XXL, was never happy with them. You want a nice deep molodious boom that’s not too harsh on the ears. Always thought it’d be cool to have some that played the horn tune out of the Vikings movie to announce my arrival, the electric ones sound crap though.

I had the train horns fitted on a Scania. Worked off a rocker switch, 1 driver turned the switch on, on the M62 one day, and used it as a siren.
