Evening all, super thread, a company and family close to my heart. dwaftruck, when you next see Clive ask him if he has any picturers of the Horse drawn furniture van that started the business, it used to be parked behind Johns (R.I.P.) house on the Birmingham New Road. I am sure that Bewick would like to see it. I wonder how many people realise the success Jones s had with their Mitsubishi pick up truck franchise, virtually everyone in the Black Country was running one in the 70s. And did they not present them well, really subtly customised, and smart. Thinking about sales, “square deal Neil” didnt do badly for them with Eagle Truck sales. Have they still got the brass Eagle?? Cheerio for now.

the last i saw of the cart , was parked at an antique dealers shop just off j3 off the m42 , i will see if i can get a picture , dont know about the eagle but i will ask C.J, , Ican remember the mitsubishi s when i was a kid and they did look smart, and "square deal neil " ha ha still until recently was doing night runs for them.

Hello all
Just showed the old man the piccys and he is well made up with them, He said there was 2 Akis with the vanplan conversion , The first colour photo of it is not his wagon he said it was to scruffy to be his lool… however that is him driving the black and white photo as the he remembers the number plate after all these years. so many thanks bubs…
I have been on the trail of photos from jonses but alas i cannot find any but i will keep searching…

Some great pics on here and they bring back loads of memories for me. I only ever did a couple of days for Jones in the early 90’s driving a 1748 Merc that went like the clappers. Ar Kid worked for em later on i’ll see if he’s got any pics to post. Keep em coming. Graham.

Great thread, some excellent pics, specially the areial shots of the old yard. I remember seeing this scanny at Woolies swindon quite a lot in the late 90s, a young lad used to drive it, jeans bomber jacket, teddyboy hairdo and sideburns.
Also remember seeing the blue red and yellow scanny thinking " i hope thats not Adam Jones new livery ".

Hello all, gunner, the blue red and yellow livery, that was when Roy, John and Clive took over Bob Priests (Wordsley, Stourbridge), operation. The F88 shown earlier was the last new Volvo I ever sold, before going to France. One of my refrences that I presented at interview in Paris, was given by Roy. Very happy days. Cheerio for now.

if i remember right didnt priests park up in gadds yard peartree lane ■■

Cheers for that dwaftruck, thought it might’ve something to do with the family as it was a decent motor (and still is) of its day,
