I think they park up behind old spillers w/house but some have moved to kirkby we used to have trouble driving through the top yard when it was fully open so cant see people taking it even closer to the houses, years ago were the yards cross green lane the house on the left was owned by the local coal man who once came out with a shotgun to one off the lads.
funny thing is his wife worked in the ICI warehouse !!!

I still call at the chippy at the across from the old entrance ,down the snicket if i can park then pull in at the layby on the lowbridge detour, its still spot on i bet their takings have gone down on fridays since the yard as shut down, all 3 chippys in ackworth are good

blimey andy, 30 years, I didn’t think you were that old   mind you just about ready for my 2 year visit to specsavers :sunglasses: :sunglasses: :sunglasses: , macfarlane that’s who dez ended up working for, till they made him redundant, good old dez, :grimacing: :grimacing: your right though I bet its thousands and thousands of journeys, because they were the largest private haulier in the country by a mile during the 60s-70s-80s-90s-then all the so called logistic companies started up,mind you there all owned by shipping companies and banks etc, :imp: :imp: :imp: progress eh  never mind it was nice to have been there when it was the best times :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

I dont think it is ex Ack Roy the reg is wrong i think its from southhampton, could be wrong to find and an old Ack unit must be rare when they were un fit for purpose the were turned into yard bombers them lads at purfleet used to get through a dozen a year.

A few more oldies.
This was my first regular unit i got after passing my class one spent a few weeks spare ■■■■■■■ first, this was plated at 36 ton so i got the extra payment for the extra responsibility, that was a good deal by the union.
Didnt pull bad for a RR265 cant believe i used to tramp in this.
