A57(M) Mancunian way has a 50 limit, but then it is only about three quarters of a mile long.
From what I remember of the Mancunian Way you are lucky to get out of low range most of the time!

Wheel Nut:
In my earlier days the A74 was a 40mph limit almost all of the way and them Jock coppers policed it with enthusiasm
Ayup,I remember those coppers too, very keen, and driving through Appleby on A66 on the way up could be fun in summer
cheers Joe.

Ayup, things never change eh,at least Appleby is bypassed now. After spending years driving England -Germany,I got a job in Holland, first trip to Glasgow,I couldnt beleive how much that road had changed, even more now Im told.Havent been that way for years, but maybe I can try a free buspass journey some time

The A66 has been dualled in quite a few locations now. I was based at Catterick in the early 90’s, it was a nightmare driving across to reach the M6 down to Liverpool
Ayup, wouldnt A1-M62 have been a better route.I used A66 and up to Glasgow in 90s and thought it was a piece of cake compared to when Id first driven it.Guess you must put me in the oldtimer group, but I can still remember,SORRY,just forgotten what I was going to say.
Not really, as I lived at the end of the M58, it was easier down to J26 than along the 58. It was a lot longer travelling down the A1 across the 62 then back up the 57 just to end up a the same place
