Hi Jeff, yes you could bring a few photo’s, there usualy are some there, but if you want to contibute your wellcome to do so.
Regarding photo’s sadly in those days not many drivers took photographs because we were usualy too busy working, and the last thing on our minds were taking a camara to work, the ones you mentioned like the Guy’s most of us drove them at some time or another, I had a Guy invincible with the ■■■■■■■ in, it was one of the best I ever had in those days, it was one before the Big J, the one you needed to have a bent leg to drive, to get round the gear leaver, see you there in October. :-Jack

Hi Mushroomman, I dont know what you mean, Kronnenberg, Primus Samson Shag, what’s all that about, if you knew us so much you’d know we didnt have time to stop and pick up stuff like that, “shame on you” for even thinking of such a thing, anyway what’s Samson Shag, is that some ancient strong guy who had all the ■■■■ women to himself, and dont worry about Dreva, he’ll be bombarded with calls and emails the week before, also there’s nothing stopping you joining us it’s an open invitation, even from the bottom of the plannet. Regards :-Jack

Has everyone stopped talking again, hows the list doing for the reunion?.I remember my dad geting an Invincible it had a gardener 150 in it 42mph top speed, he came off a mandator, that was a flying machine.I seem to remember Dave Armitage having one it had the air filter removed and it went a little faster.I trailer mated him once, long piles from hull docks to featherstone I think, I had to jump out and stop the traffic so we could negotiate boothferry bridge

Hi Jeff, some of us must have more time on our hands so we can look now and again to see what’s happening on this site, it usualy goe’s quiet this time of year, some of the drivers are on holliday so that’s why there quiet, I have a list of who’s going to the reunion and up to now we have about 45/50 but that includes wives too for some of them, also if any-one can get hold of Dave Armitage and Jack Teather it would be nice to see them there too, last time I saw him was at Jack’s funeral but I didnt get a contact number from him, so if any-one out there knows of his where-abouts please let me know and I’ll call him myself if need-be, Keep smilling and Regards :-Jack

I dont have his number or any contact info for him Stuart, in fact there are a few more I dont have contact info for, if you have any info for any-one if you forward it I will be glad to make contact with them all, and I’m not a big fan of “Facebook” there’s too much crap and too much private info on there already, it may be OK for folks who have nothing much to do with there lives, but I’m not one of them. :-Jack

HI lads, thanks to the 2 Stuarts sending me the info I have now confirmed another 5 mates who will be there for the reunion, it will be nice to see Alan Bennett this time, sadly his wife was too ill to be left at the time but now he’s back on his feet he’ll be there, Dennis Brown has confirmed he’ll be there Frank Breslin and Richard Brent a guy who is writing a book on A One Transport so he will be looking for info and advice for his book, I just called Tony Wood but not sure yet because it looks like he will be on holiday again, I’m still looking for info for “Walter” Jack Tether for some reason no-one has a contact number or email address for him, but there must be some-one out there who knows, he missed last year for the same reason and it’ll be a shame to miss him out again, if I remember his daughter brought him the first time but I still dont have a number to call, I still dont have conformation on Peter Calvert which would be another missed, so if any of you have numbers or any info please let me know, up to now we have about 48 which is about the same as 2 years ago and we need more.
Kind Regards :-Jack.

It is a good idea to have other drivers from other bradford/leeds firms there.

Hi Jeff, I agree it could be a good idea to invite drivers from other companies from our area, Bradford, Leeds, Dewsbury, in fact the ones we had contact with throughout the job, if this was to happen, it could grow to at least twice the size and double the numbers to over 100, since we struggle to reach 50 from A1 sadly because some of the drivers are no longer with us, or have moved away too far to come, but it’s great to meet everyone at least once a year, it’s what we do when we reach pension age, even some of the guy’s from X Roads Commercials, since we knew some of them and even some of our staff went to work there so it would make sence to invite them too, while A1 was the main company in the area and the reunion was initially for A1 drivers, to make it a better venue for everyone it would make sence to have other’s there too, the only thing is we’d need a bigger venue because of the numbers doubled to say 100 or so, the pub wouldn’t be big enough, so we could discuss ideas between ourselves and if other’s are in favour then we could organise to suit but it would be a good idea to spread the word around to other company drivers to get there views and see if they would join our reunions, otherwise it would have to stay as it is, I dont mind doing my bit to get it moving, because if it’s done right it could turn out to be a big success, but That’s just my idea, I’ll await other comments to see what everyone else wants. Kind Regards :-Jack

Sorry to hear that Keith, I know the feeling had it done a few years ago and it’s not nice to know that some-one has been through your home, I just hope you well and got paid out from the insurance, it’s a long hard slog getting things back together when you’ve lost so much, but hope to see you in a few weeks time. Best Regards :-Jack :frowning:
