I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt for now. It will have an adjuster somewhere - I just didn’t manage to find it for some reason . You want to get yourself some of them Rob - you’d be impressed I think, even a badge snob like you (DAF)
. Renaults are/were cheap to buy in comparison to other marques - dunno if that’s still the case though
and can’t comment on long term reliability but they’ve come on in HUGE way since the original ■■■■■■■ model.
me, a badge snob■■?
WTF have you been smoking?
if i was one of them, i would have them piles of ■■■ scrapias
as for the prices, they are not that cheap these days, can get a bigger, full width cab MAN TGX XLX for less money
yes, Renault have come a long way recently, but they have also put their prices up to match

5…4…3…2…1 until a certain Leeds OD shows up .

Must be that Volvo driveline that’s inflated the prices ■■ Used to be cheap as chips (comparatively speaking) at one point. There may be more space in a TGLXGXLXGFDFFRGTERHLXTG but I’d still have the Twingo if I had a choice.
I think the premium will be a popular fleet truck, is the optidrive made by the same company as the I-shift?
Fully agree with you Rob
One downside I’ve got with them though, is the leg room for your left leg. The engine tunnel comes in abit too much for my liking. Also the lights and storage net on the bottom bunk are a bit low, like they raised the bunk and forgot to raise the other things.
But overall a big improvement on the old model
I will concur with RobK, I drove one of the latest Premiums on Sunday, 460. It was an absolute joy to drive after being in an 08 Scania 420 the day before…I used to drive a new Daf XF105, it made the Daf seem depressing to be in…May sound a bit stupid, but the Daf always seemed to big, cold, bland and depressing inside, must have been the colours and the boring dash…I don`t know.

TWINGO !!
The lads at DHL got me some TWINGO stickers for my Premium when I had 1 .
I also think they are a great truck as well !
ok for day work with the odd night out but not big enough for multiple nights out on long haul work if you got to live in it for some time go for the big brother magnum.

No prizes for guessing which “lads” they were.
They do look better than the older premiums also if painted up right they can look the mutts nuts! I thought you got out of driving Rob or have you got back into it for a while
Cheers

Yeah they do look quite smart in a proper colour. I saw one in a metallic blue colour the other day and it looked good.
I no longer drive as my main source of income but to be perfectly honest I am needing a big stack of cash for business expansion and the lovely banking institutions are only offering me around 80% of what I need (which is more than I was expected tbh). Driving is something I enjoy doing and as I can run the business from my phone, going back driving kills two birds with one stone.
Price wise how does a premium compare to a cf or a axor? Those 2 motors have their foot in the door with the supermarkets.
I’m at a loss for words…
Ken.
I think I know which renault you’re talking about I’ve seen one running out of linpac in featherstone a time or two in metallic blue
Ahh I see. Well it’s good to see you’re doing well in the current times and makes sense that you earn your money doing something you enjoy . Hope things carry on being as good and happy driving
Cheers
Jonny
i’ve been driving these on & off since last year for the local firm i work direct for.they have 7 of them & are just awaiting delivery of 3 new 1’s to replace the 58 plates they have.
i like them as well, quiet, comfy, not much good as a tramping motor, but for the odd night more than adequate.
they have 2 ‘60’ platers with a 460 in & they pull really well, getting 10mpg out of them so far,so not to bad fuel wise
i believe there a renault cab & electrics & gearbox with a volvo engine & running gear, either way,it’s a nice place to be in when your out driving.
@ JRL, have they learnt what straps are for there yet? I used to drive for them many moons ago but walked after endless arguments with the female transport wallah who said that 2 unlevel pallets of corrigated cardboard stacked on top of each other did not need strapping, so long as I take it steady.

ha ha,they have mate, think she’s gone now,all the lads strap their loads if they feel it needs strapping,as do i.they still need to sort out a few other stuff regarding deliveries, but on the whole there a good firm to work for,the bonus is they are 10 mins walk from my house
