What I meant was God created the ability we have to observe the world and yes, despite the sin in the world He still gives us a certain knowledge.
Whoever first discovered maths, nobody is perfectly good no matter which part of the earth your ancestors came from.
Its not nice to laugh at people.I didnt laugh at you when you told me you were the product of mentilly ill ancestors,

I have to look up that experiment.I dont have much knowledge about chemistry but it isnt essential to have all this knowledge in order to be a Christian.Correction, a good knowledge of science threatens your belief system so you need to actively avoid it in case you accidentally “wake” from your delusion
Sploom:
Sure I believe in science but just that God created it.Outstanding!
See, this is why I respond to your posts, it’s better than Netflix, self-penned proof of irredeemable irrationality.
There’s no hope for you, how can your imaginary friend invent science? If that were possible, why did he (it’s always a male deity isn’t it?) invent evolutionary biology to challenge your delusions?
Did he invent Maths too? If so then why did the Arabs get to create algebra and not the Europeans?
Did Sir Issac Newton receive the basis of Calculus from the Angel-of-Mathematics? Like Dr John Dee and his mate Edward Kelley received the Enochian language (the alleged language of the angels) from “spirits”? (More likely a whopping big dose of laudanum )Sploom:
I dont believe life can be created in the lab.If I said I do believe it,I would be lying.See, more woolly thinking, I said “the building blocks of life” can be created in a lab. But, lets not ignore cloning and in vitro fertilisation, which is on a very limited level “creating life in a lab”. Unless you believe IVF is somehow fake? In which case there’s a bunch of demon offspring in our societal midst.
If you’re not a scientist yourself, then it would be impossible to prove a positive if you had no underlying understanding of the actual science that leads to that same understanding. “Proof” would just be one scientist showing another scientist the technique they’ve devloped, or is already in place to show that if you do the same thing countless times - you get the same result.
If you do the same thing and you get a random, different result each time - then that’s NOT science - is it?
“Because the results - cannot be predicited and the method of getting there - cannot ever be proven to a layman”.
Now if you say to 1000 people “Eat deathcap mushrooms - because they’ll extend your life, and improve your health” - each and every person listening has the option of “trying” or “not trying” it at the start.
Then you say “Anyone who thinks this is a conspiracy theory to cull them - gets locked up, and the key thrown away!” leads the sensible people still left to “sidestep” this, perceived attempt on their very lives… They’ll be getting out of dodge, because they suspect that eating these mushrooms will kill them, or at least seriously harm them - but they cannot argue against it to stop others from doing this thing - because they’ll get locked up if they do!
So they just “Get the hell out of Dodge” - and that’s all the pacified masses can do at the end of the day.
What they don’t do though - is Rebel, and overthrow those who tried to cull them.
500 years ago though? - It was another matter.
It is almost as if today is the dark ages, rather than the more enlightened days of theological debate that took place 500 years ago.
You don’t need “Special Understandings” to be either a scientist or relgious, or even of “above average intellect”.
What you need is WISDOM which is the ability to know and learn things without the need for every step to be “proven” to you at every stage…
“Hi Doc. I’m not feeling very well.”
“Let’s just put you down for a few tests…”
“Hold on Doc… Could I see your credentials please, before you stick that needle in my arm! Could you refer me to a specialist that I’ve actually heard of, rather than some random immigrant who’s been here less than ten years, and I can’t understand his accent…”
Or did they?
You have to make a judgement of character - before you start. That involves trust all the way along the chain that led you to this particular GP’s surgery door…
“Judgement of Character” cannot be learned at University, cannot be purchased at Harvard, cannot be listened to on headphones while you sleep, and cannot be left to you in a will, nor bred into you by intelligent parents and peers.
“Intellect” is a product of Environment and Breeding combined, maybe - but Wisdom - is priceless.
Sploom:
I watch a lot of crime documentaries and the police seem to have faith in the polygrapgh than you.
Zac_A:
I refer you to my earlier quote on lack of objectivity: polygraphs have no value in British law, only in US Law, so I conclude the documentaries are American. The polygraph operator will simply ask the police what they want the polygraph to indicate, then they narrate a suitable tale - paid for by the people who want this particular tale told. See the problem
One of worst uses of polygraphs is as a screening device. That was suggested following the cricket doping issues a few years ago.
Imagine even a 90% accurate polygraph. They aren`t that good of course.
In a factory there are 1,000 employees. Goods are going missing. So a polygraph is used to screen the workers.
Maybe there are 5% doing the thieving? 50 crooks.
So,
of the 50 crooks, 45 will be accurately found. (10% error)…5 guilty are not found.
of the 950 innocent, (10% error)…95 are falsely found guilty.
So, if relied on, the machines would sack 95 good workers to get rid of 45 bad ones, and still allow 5 bad `uns to carry on.
If the workforce are even better: only 1% thieves it`s worse:
9 thieves found, and 99 falsely accused.
Even fairly accurate tools (which polygraphs aren`t) need to be used carefully.
Let him that hath Wisdom - count the number of the Beast, for it is the number of a Man - and this number is 6-6-6
We’ve got governments around the world that are obsessed with ^^^that from which all animal (Beast) life is made, including “Man”.
If you reduce the natural balance of CO2 in the atmosphere, then the kick-back result from that will be less plant growth to re-balance the natural equilibrium. Deserts will form BECAUSE you’ve reduced the CO2 in the atmosphere.
We’re being lied to, been lied to, and are threatened if we don’t comply with all the tosh that goes around using less fossil fuels, spending more on cleaning our rubbish, polluting with heavy metals instead of the harmless CO2 and H2O products of burning fossil fuels.
That means that 99% of us are going to get poorer, less healthy, and live less long than before.
Try to “push back” though? - Tell the useful idiots that “Bad things will happen to those who don’t conform” and we’ve now got Techno Communism where you are forced to believe in this “Fake Religion” - or else!
There’s plenty of Atheists that believe in Man-Made Climate Change, rather than Natural Climate Change that we cannot do anything about.
There’s few Religious people that are prepared to bow down and worship the graven image that is “Mother Earth” or “Gaia” if you will.
Likewise, there are few religious people that respect a corrupt form of “Democracy” that now has taken over the west, where those who “don’t accept the narrative” are pushed out using rigged elections almost routinely by this point.
How many of us voted Green? - And yet our mainstream parties have put their joint Green policy agenda - ahead of everything else, including Public Health and The Economy.
Personally, I didn’t vote Conserative to give Ukraine billions in unwarrented “Aid” when they are not even our ally.
I didn’t vote Conservative to make our lives more expensive, and miserable thanks this Paris Accord commitment, which is harmful to the long term prosperity of the entire human race.
I didn’t vote Conservative to unnecessarily lock down our economy, and cause since shortages in major infrastructure in the economy so damaging, that we’ll take decades to recover, likely not in our lifetimes - the very acme of “Austerity” to come.
Are Labour offering an alternative to that? - Hell No!
“It’s more of the same, but with a fairer rollout” - whever the F— that means!
…Then at the end, all the CO2 you’ve saved - can all be spent at once, by burning you down to a crumbly skeleton, and grinding what’s left into powder, and calling that <could be anyone’s ashes> - since did you stand there and watch - like Hindus do?
Just dipped back into this thread for a quick look
Sploom should have addressed his post to Zac, not me, he is doing a much better job of shooting down all this religious crap that is being spouted than I ever could.
I also see the fruitcake level has been increased in joining the Sploom party as back up.
Has anybody ever seen that video on you tube of that crazy pub with all the characters in there…I reckon this is how the thread is going to develop … a kind of ‘Fraggle Rock meets Trucknet’.
^^^^^^^
Just found it.

No problem Robroy, you know where I am if you change your mind.Or if you are in the midlands you can get a free Bible if ever you decide you want to study it
One for Zac_A
Imagine getting upset at someone for claiming the God you don’t believe in, said in the book you don’t read, that unless you repent of the sin you don’t care about, you will go to a place you don’t think exists.

Ok but don’t call me,… I’ll call you.
never ever.
Sploom:
Winseer.
What about the trucks with the crucifix lit up on the dash.
I dont somehow think they put it there for anything but a fashion accesory
No, they put them there because they’re dangerous knobbos, anyone who does that should be sacked.

You’re not getting it: Why would I get upset about that? That’s four examples of fiction. That’s like when stupid people say “I bet you wouldn’t stay the night in a haunted house”, that’s just more fiction.
It’s no different than the story books I read to my children when they were young, and of considerably less value than the excellent The Lorax by Dr Seuss.
Winseer:
If you’re not a scientist yourself,
Let me just stop you there, well-known crazy man of TN, as I’ve said previously, “scientist” was my former occupation once upon a time. I have a PhD in (essentially) biochemistry and did post-doctoral research on a range of different projects for about eight years.

“But you’re the one that he wants, oo - oo - oo, the one that he needs, oh yes indee-eed”
I took my kids to see a metal band in Leeds in April (Sabaton) and there was a crazy street preacher outside the gig, trying to “save our souls from rock and roll”
I thought to myself “Sploom? Is that you??” (Now if that was you Rob you would have had good reason to been very concerned )
15,000 people (including my kids) singing a pagan song about Odin, Thor and Valhalla. My eleven year old daughter said it was the best night of her life. Different gig, different tour, same song, same mass pagan chanting

I suppose I’d better shape up then, if I’m gonna prove his faith in me is justified.
Its not a question of whether I want you to be saved but it has to be God that does this.
As I said before ,I was brought up in the Roman church,a religion I now see as false, like all other religions apart from true Christianity. But heres a thing.I have some Bible quotes about the Roman church.Even though it started in the 3rd century,it was foretold in the Bible.
bible.com/bible/compare/1TI.4.3-5
These things are what you pick up on,Robroy, and use to describe true Christianity as a miserable existance,of depriving oneself of gifts that we are given to be enjoyed. As a child,I was told not to eat meat on Fridays, for example
Also,in the book of revelation, there is mention of the ■■■■■ of babylon dressed in purple robes and the great city ruling over the world. This,I think refers to the vatican.
And when I had to go to church, what did the preists wear?
Purple robes!
The leader of the Roman church is prepared to compromuse with other belief systems other false religions,in order to lead us ,blindly into a new world order. You dont see it,you dont realise it is happening, whereas a true Christian will hold steadfsst to the teachings of scripture without comprimise.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/■■■■■_of_Babylon
Please ,have a look
1 timothy 4,3to5
This verse tells how the Roman church will tell you not to get married. So we have monks, nuns preists cant enjoy the gift of ■■■ that God gave us to enjoy, and lets fave it,is nit marriage the best thing this life offers? I think it is.Two people devoted to each other, enjoying intimacy, helping each other through the difficulties that life presents. And then the gift of children too,the joy of parenthood and when se are old and infirm, there is someone that gives a ■■■■.
How evil a thing to try and deprive others of this wonderful gift and yet people tar us all with the same brush .Just because the pope says you(nuns) cant marry,we(Christians) are accused of forcing others to abstein from these gifts. Now this dies get on my nerves I must admit.
robroy:
I suppose I’d better shape up
If you need a man?
I guess so.
