Nice diary Newmercman.like you say not much reason to fudge logs in the western states, though California ■■■■■ with it’s 55 mph speed limit for trucks.
Came over the Rockies myself today.Loaded wine in Medenca CA this morning and am now sitting in Wendover UT taking a break. Hit the Bonneville salt flats first thing in the am.
I’m off to somewhere in Ohio tomorrow afternoon, probably just do a few hours & get into Wisconsin, I’m not tipping until Sat am, then I’ll probably have a preloaded trailer out of Chicago area to come home with.
i’ll post some pics of the trip on here, it may surprise a few of you
thanks for the reply.
look forward too more diaries and pics in the future.
its something i’d consider myself, in a few years time, once the kids have flown the nest etc.
just out of interest, if you were away on a two week trip, would the company be against you taking the mrs with you. would be handy for me too know.
hope so, then i could leave the dozy cow at home
I’m dropping this load at our yard in Chicago (Franklin Park) Thursday evening then loading chocolate out of Nestle’s place in Burlington WI probably Friday noon time to go back home to New York.
Trip sounds a canny run, pics looks brilliant, wagon seems to up to the biz. a little question, as i’m considering joining the exodus, is the cash worthwhile and are they hiring ?
Sure I don’t know what you mean about fudging logs.
Left Weds morn at 0530, delivered High Prairie AB Thurs at 0800, delivered Rose Prairie Thurs 1400 and back into Edmonton. Load took most of the day so did 2 pickups then dropped Brandon Sat 1500 and home by 1800 on Saturday. 4400 kms. Good run.
great diary mate. looks like a pretty picturesque job compared with dropping forklifts off around the central belt… Right, i’m off to get my one way ticket to Canada!
