That’s right syramax. A smart Volvo F86
One of the first three Volvo’s into the UK back in the 1970’s.
Restored in the 1990’s for the 25 years of Volvo Trucks UK. Part paid for by Volvo

its possible but when robbie retired youngs (cranes) took the job on, although i dont know wether or not they got “the facillities” if my information is correct?? they were then pushed out for not complying with corus/tata rules ,not getting a corus employee to “watch them in” using mobile phones whilst driving on site and not wearing ppe (glasses /hats) as supplied. i had left by this time so this is what i have been told (and may not be correct). i believe tyson burridge may be running their concast stuff these days.

Hello syramax
Thankyou for that information.
Yes, Tyson Burridge does all the work out of there now, even down to parcels with a small 7.5 ton DAF LF.
Right, I didn’t realise that marra. I though Boyes lost the contract when Corus shut the rail rolling mill at Moss Bay in 2006/7 but you live and learn!
Young’s Cranes I belive don’t work out of there either now. I’m sure they where shut down due to there operators licence been revoked.
Lawsons do a lot of crane work at TATA now.
Many thanks again marra
Kindest regards

Hello syramax
Thankyou for that marra.
Didn’t realise that they worked out of Concast like. Thought all that was handled by Burridges.
Boyes definitely have a depot at Chapel Bank still as I was talking to a marra the other day who seems to think there is 3 lorries at Chapel Bank now.
He seems to think they use it as a depot for work they do for Moss Bay Metals, using flats and sometimes Ropers artic tipper.
Kindest regards
