Was that you I seen the day on the A90 between Dundee and Perth, in tandem with another Stobart timber wagon? First time I’ve seen stobarts timber wagons that far north.
not that far North! I was loaded headed South about 10? I came on at Stirling weighbridge heading to Carlisle. First of the two running together.
Maybe I’m losing my marbles? I defo seen 2 in tandem this morning and thought it was an unusual sight maybe it was the M80? I was going from Bellshill to Dundee. This job is driving me insane
To be fair it is great. We are kept busy, which I prefer. There is next to no contact with the office, keep going until you are going to a new job, maybe 2 or 3 days on one site.
Last few days we have had motorway runs, but usually see less than 10 miles dual carriageway.
I know a lot of drivers doing similar jobs so we get plenty of “crack” and a laugh. Other drivers also help you out, ie directions, road conditions, police/vosa warnings etc over CB.
Yes I know it is a stobart unit but don’t get the usual hatred directed at us. We are just doing a job along with many others in the area.
…
Just been told that the stobart haters site features the wagon parked up with me, and some spotters. The driver who posted the photo has said we are saying how proud we feel when we are photographed! How shallow minded.

That hill and hairpin looks like it will be interesting in the wet eh!!!. Eddie.
Only had mild dampness to contend with… just on the road I mean! Wasn’t too bad as long as you kept wide.
Up in your neck if the woods tomorrow eddie, loading near dalmellington for Lockerbie. Probably coming back over the top to new ■■■■■■■ and down that way.
How do the bolsters move with those trailers ?
I did a week on timber with a skelly and timber crane , the back bolsters had a hydraulic ram to move them forward for loading / unloading with the crane . The front ones were slid along by the crane , just wondered as there can’t be hydraulics on your unit ? Or is there ■■
The ram for the back bolsters always looked vulnerable , luckily I managed to avoid picking it up with the grapple
I now work for someone else on general haulage but still do round timber but with no crane and flatbed trailer
dingo:
Were you running to Fort william during the week ?
Met quite a few Jenkys on Tuesday Going through Glen Coe.
I never took any loads to Fort William. The Jenkinsons flats went up, we went to bsw Carlisle. Did that for three days, and then back down to our usual stuff.
I was looking out for you up that way dingo, but the only driver I passed with a name I recognise was Bud, in Carlisle one morning. Regularly see him in James Jones too.
Apparently this is Stobarts undercutting timber companies up North. . What we do is nothing to do with Stobarts! The 3 or 4 drivers on this are just on hire to Jenkinsons! But who cares about the facts!!
