Never heard the phrase ‘speculate to accumulate’?
Said by people who never have. You sure as hell don’t want that in a health service because the other side of that coin is you can also have your pants pulled down. Anyone investing has typically seen losses of 8% to 20% this last year.
As for rest, good work blaming a party that’s been out of power going on 13 years.
Probably because in 2022 their decisions still have a massive impact. An eigth of what the NHS is spending today is not on treatment or care but loans Teflon Tony and Gordon saddled the NHS with. Just imagine what they could do with those extra billions.
We all know he can be blamed for most things……
Oh I know what the mind of Socialist Worker readers like you believe who can be blamed, it’s all the evil tories and the brexit voters innit? No doubt you blame them and Brexit for the current state of the economy too despite the IMF stating just this week that a third of the world is in recession. “Its all the evil tories and stupid racist brexiters innit” is what the simpletons with absolutely no idea WTF is going on looking for cheap likes and upvotes on social media say.

privatisation by the back door. Probably a combination of both
Unsurprisingly Germany doesn’t seem to share your enthusiasm for our Bolshevik basket case style health service.
Probably because they know that ‘free’ actually means rationed to the point of being unfit for purpose.
So you’re saying that Germany should follow our system ?.
dozy:
My girl ( staff nurse ) does 4x12 hr shifts pw , nights / long days ( 7pm - 7am , 7am - 7pm ) & is often longer with hand over , will often be sent to queens med , does bank shifts , last one was a early , 7 am - 13.30 , finally got away at 17.00 , not sure where the 37.5 hrs comes from
Her contracted standard hours are 37.5hrs a week. Anything above that is overtime. If she is doing those hours it is because she is choosing to, not because she is obliged to. It’s like when you’re whinging about being out 5 nights a week and missing your steak dinner, it’s because YOU are choosing to be, not because you have to. You can check for yourself, nurse pay scales are publicly available information.
Absolute rubbish , ( she’s not obliged to do it) it’s her bloody rota , done by her boss , of course she has to do it unless she’s a good reason she can’t , then she would be short on her hours so would have to make it up by doing extra shifts .
As for pay daughter does the job I’llask her thanks
As for me again talking rubbish , I moaned about being run out of hours , having to spend a night in a lay-by , do 1/2 hrs back to the yard in the morning , though I’m sure as your perfect it never happened to you & you’d never moan

Conor has started to rival Carryfast when it comes to patronising posts and telling people what actually happens to people it’s actually happening to

And more example of your Carryfast style posts- inventing what other people think then having a go at them for opinions you’ve made up for them. Good work

Sorry but she’s either lying to you or doesn’t understand her own contract of employment. If she’s doing them it’s because she wants to, not because she has to. If she’s doing additional hours because she’s been rota’d for them then that’s down to her, she is not contractually obliged to do them.
Here is a page from the Royal College of Nursing about employment terms and pay scales.
10.1 The standard hours of all full-time NHS staff covered by this pay system will be 37.5 hours, excluding meal breaks. Working time will be calculated exclusive of meal breaks, except where individuals are required to work during meal breaks, in which case such time should be counted as working time.
10.2 The standard hours may be worked over any reference period, e.g. 150 hours over four weeks or annualised hours, with due regard for compliance with employment legislation, such as the Working Time Regulations.

I’m using the information the Royal College of Nursing state, not making it up out of my arse like you do.
Do I deny she’s doing the hours she is? No. However she is doing them out of choice not because of a contractual obligation and she is rewarded for doing so, getting time and a half for working over 37.5hrs with double time on bank holidays.
She and dozy are two peas in the same pod, both whining about the amount of hours they’re doing which they don’t actually have to do but make a deliberate decision to choose to.

I’m actually ‘asking’ ‘you’ to clarify ‘your’ ‘opinions’ based on the question do you view Germany’s private/public hybrid as bad v our Bolshevik basket case system that’s all about pandering to low incomes to save Employers’ cash, resulting in Liverpool Pathways and forced DNR’s etc as supposedly good ?.

Maybe you didn’t hear they are on strike??
Probably because they earn about 50% of the average truck drivers wages?
You need to stop believing the [zb] the unions and the media are feeding you.
The average nurses wage is approximately £35000 (it was £33,384 in 2021 according to the Royal College of Nursing) which is more than 50% of the average truck drivers wage and they only do a 37.5hr week for that.
you need to open your eyes to the real facts,
so when one of your loved ones is in hospital being treated are you ok for that medical staff to stop treating your loved one cos they have reached their 37.5hr limit? then your loved one goes without any treatment whilst the handovers are completed, as required by law, no though not…
my wife is a senior physician in the eastriding, they are seriously understaffed with 1000,s of jobs available. with very little applications coming through other then from overseas… why is this if the pay and the hours are so good?
everyone within my wifes team are doing way over any contracted hours, and not getting paid but their conscious does not allow them to simply walk away from either the patient ot the patients family.
A lot of conflicting info about. Over the last 12 months or so I have attended 2 hospitals (1 Uni Hospital and 1 local)at least 3-4 times a month for myself and for my Wife. Must admit I have never seen any Q`s of ambulances considering 1 car park at the Uni Hospital is opposite A&E.
Conor:
Labour cut 26,000 beds in their time in power.
Since 2010 when the Conservative Party took party there have been approx 37,00 beds been cut.
If the tories are really that concerned they would have reversed the cuts, but no instead they have further decimated the bed count. This leads to problems fiurther up the line as patients in A&E cannot be moved on the care system as there simply isnt the bed availability.
Im no rabid socialist but its obvious where the blame is to be laid
The amount of money poured into the NHS has primarily been wasted, due incompetent NHS Trusts poor management. Money going in is down to, as I see it,Trust management creating "pen pusher"jobs instead of front line working. Along with “revolving door” jobs for failure in one Trust and moved into the same job only with another name in another, and a “golden goodbye” with it Over recent months I have attended hospital out patients for myself and my wife, hardly anybody waiting, all down to telephone consultations, which I might add you wait weeks or even months for. Not all the NHS failings are down solely to the this Government,A&E Q`ing is partially down to not being able to get a GP appointment, on the day its needed.
Not knocking nurses or the front line staff but senior pen pushers and box tickers for the situation.

Before you start spouting more BS on this thread youve questions to answer on another thread reUPS
The problem is there’s never any long term plan for improvement. The NHS still uses fax machines ffs! But while the government of the day are quick to point out any increase in spending, its never done with a solid long term plan and every decision is based not on the best long term interest of the country but what is the best decision based on where we are in the election cycle.
Something long term that can be looked at is support for training costs - a bursary if you like - so a nurse or doctor could get “sponsored” through university rather than being saddled with 60k of student debt for a wage. That is a massive barrier to getting newly qualified into the NHS, and doctors.
There something wrong when a ming ■■■■ who carts kitchen worktops around, or tins of coke around or whatever, is able to command wages that are above what a nurse who provides vital care in some of our, or our families, most neediest moments, who have taken years to study to be “newly qualified” versus a week with some old bloke in an old supermarket spec wagon.
In a way it is what it is, market forces and that, but obviously the pandemic taught nobody anything about the value of some workers and some seem quick to turn against the nurses, the railway workers (note NOT train drivers as the media try and paint), the bin men, the ambulance workers, and all those whose absence would actually prevent a service being delivered while all those slimy middle management types, politicians, jobs with no meaning worked from home, or got furloughed, saved a fortune doing so, and now sneer at those they manage.

Tell me more which topic is that and what questions where.
As for this topic switch is making the case for having no private funding component/involvement in the NHS which by definition can only mean that the German system is inferior ?.
BS indeed.
