Just a quick question. I have never worked out this Tonne per Meter of cranes. I am getting a new crane trailer. They are putting refurb cranes off of out old ridgids on the trailers. They will lift about 6T at 12 meters, what would that work out at?

Send me some pics mate when you get it, a recovery trailer is next on our shopping list. We thought about a 4 axle unit with monster crane, but an extendable stepframe with double flip ramps and a crane on the neck might be a better option.
Will do, but I do not think it is as big as I think it is going to be. Might have to have a new unit aswell as looks like they can not fit an oil tank to my unit, so I might get a Volvo FM as that is what the other is going to be. But never mind, 2 new units for my is just over 12 months!!
we get asked to put those pesky generators in to some tight places, usually in the dark , had one on friday night out by stamford to an anglian water sewage plant, that had a s bend in the access track that you could only reverse down , and that had a drainage ditch on both sides, tested my concentration rather a lot
my 8 wheeler scanny has a fassi 66 t/m crane on it and 25’ long body and can just comfortably carry 11.900 kgs which just happens to be the same weight as the largest gennie a 500kva, 1 3000 ltr fuel tanks and 2 baskets or reels of cable s, it was specced to do the job rather brought off the shelf
and for those intrested in such trivia it will lift 3100kg at 16 metres
On a 6 wheeler crane truck, the rear axles are set as far forward as possible, to try and help carry the weight of the crane on the front axle, which is sat with all the weight of the crane rideing on it, thats why they have so much rear overhang, we have a 6 wheel rigid exactly the same, its a real pain… higher front axle weights would solve the problem or next time i will order a 8 wheeler rigid ,
