20, 30 or 40mph limits don’t make much of a difference as I’ve found most taxis seem to travel at 50mph most of the time anyway.
The notable exception being out of a built up area on a dark country road where their innate lack of competence sees them travelling at less than 30mph and braking sharply whenever they lose sight of the road or are faced with an oncoming vehicle.

While here we’ve now got the problem on non local drivers and eco zealots not being able or willing to differentiate all the different limits illogically applying to A classed through roads.Which
can vary between 50 or 40 or 30 mph to 20 mph.Which can turn a run to/from anywhere in the outer London Boroughs from/out to the home counties into a slow bicycle paced joke.When even the 20 mph sections are bad enough.The result being traffic making massive detours like North Circ to M25 or Guildford via Mortlake and Sheen to Roehampton and the A3 to avoid the more direct previous route through Richmond and Kingston to Esher or Tolworth for example.
Similar applies in the case of traffic running between the old Middlesex and Kent.
To the point where the old 726 bus route from Heathrow to Dartford was changed to West Croydon.Then they added insult to injury by changing it to the laughable X26 and now the Superloop 7 when the reality is super slow as in far slower than bicycle pace.Between the two terminals.Its a joke.
