Dave,Did you get any pics.
Smallwood Vintage Rally Ltd is on 25, 26 & 27th May this year. We’ve got 80 vintage & classic commercials booked in so far. Held in the fields behind the cottage where Edwin Foden was born. We also have classic cars, tractors, military, Land Rovers, steam & stationary engines. We had a really hot & sunny weekend last year & hope for the same this year.

From last years rally. If I get there this year I may take all my pics in black & white for a change.
I’ll do the coloured ones then, John. No excuse for me not travelling to this one, eh? Just round the corner!
Vintage truck show on 25/26/27 May at Rugby truckstop organised by Jim Read, proceeds to Air Ambulance.
Whilst seemingly driving round the entire showground yesterday trying to find somewhere to abandon the E10 I noticed plenty of old tin amongst the identical looking modern stuff. I’m on painting duty for today but will try to get some pictures tomorrow.

0Here’s an AEC in glorious colour, John!
Hi ROF great photo mate did you know this one belongs to 3300john and if so did you get chance to speak to him at all.
I’ve since been informed that it belongs to 3300john, matey, but there was no-one around when I snapped it.
Just been looking at the calendar of events in my neck of the woods and noticed that Kelsall and Astle Park are both on the same weekend. I’ll have to make my mind up which day I’m going to each. As long as I can afford the gallon of fuel to get to Kelsall I can coast to Astle Park!
Smallwood will be the next gathering on my list- maybe see you there?
[/i] Great Photos Ralph, It looks like it was a nice day too, Regards Larry
I like the fleet of WO Bedfords- done a few miles in one of those.

Its a shame it clashes with the Shropshire show at Shrewsbury, otherwise I would have come and had a look at the Raven.
Cheers Dave.

Vintage truck show on 25/26/27 May at Rugby truckstop organised by Jim Read, proceeds to Air Ambulance.
The AEC rally is at Newark Showground on that weekend, road run on the Saturday then more entrants arrive on the Sunday. There were around 500 vehicles there last year but it was the final year of Jim running it so many will probably head to Rugby. Newark is also an Eastern Counties ERF gathering for the owners club so we’ve entered to go there but good luck to Jim.
Jim organised what I consider to have been THE !!! show last year and one that other shows such as Gaydon ect have to rise to. I have been on the rally circuit many years and at Newark last year I saw many vehicles that I haven’t come across before, admitidly the weather was kind to him but it was well organised and a credit to all concerned. However as so often happens what could be termed as politics crept into it after what was an excellent show and I hope Jim gets the support he deserves, end of rant.
A few photos from the rally today at North Rode nr Congleton not a bad turnout for a small village.
First time I have been to this show.
Good photos, John. Unfortunately my grandchildren’s preferences were for Touring Car racing on Sunday. Must try and teach them where their priorities should lie!
